Anniversary of lifting the Siege of Leningrad: Get the KV-2 (ZiS-6) and more!

Following a successful offensive by Soviet troops in January 1944, the Soviets made it possible to push the Wehrmacht 70-100 km from Leningrad, ensuring a complete lifting of the blockade and safety from artillery strikes. On January 27th, the lifting of the siege of Leningrad was announced to the entire world, and in honor of this event, a celebratory fireworks display was held.

The KV-2 (ZiS-6) is available for Golden Eagles and is here to stay!

The American F-15E was under construction in 1985... But was introduced later, in 1988.
The Japanese F-15J is not the initial version introduced in 1981. The skin that the 15J wears belongs to 204th Squadron, which only started to have 15J's in 1984.

Matching vehicles based purely off of some kind of introductory/testing date would cause many issues.

By-date match making has been discussed at length in virtually any historic-matchmaking thread.

Introducing War Thunder’s New Event Cycle

We’ve got some news to share with you. From now on, we’ll be using a brand-new event cycle where events will start almost consecutively and will (wherever possible) be tied to real-life events.

In addition to this, each event — except the Winter event and some cosmetic only events — will only have one vehicle dedicated to them. Every event will last on average 12-18 days, where when it finishes, there’ll be a small pause of a few days until the next one begins.

The first event in this new cycle is due to start very soon — keep an eye out for all of the details surrounding this on January 25th.

Meet Airborne General, the 14th Season of the Battle Pass!

The M551 Sheridan light tank was named in honor of General Philip Sheridan, an American Civil War General. Equipped with a 76mm M32 cannon, this tank is the main reward of the 14th Battle Pass Season in War Thunder!

New! You’ll now automatically receive all Battle Pass rewards that you earn, even if you forget to claim them on time. At the end of the season, all unclaimed rewards will be credited to your account when you first log into the game. Tank with the best interior survivability in the game? (Low BR and High BR)

As above. To my experience, there aren't any tanks that have reliable survivability. You can tilt the odds in your favor of being able to take a hit, but you cannot guarantee anything. The best thing you can do is estimate how many rounds you plan to fire on a map, and take that many. I've seen a lot of people take a full ammunition load and had slim to no chance of being able to take a single penetrating hit.

"The best guaranteed survivability is simply not getting shot at" aside... If you know you're going to take a hit, and it's probably/certainly going to penetrate, try to put as much as you can between where the shot is coming from, and where your crew is. For things like this (circumstantially) I would say vehicles like the STRV 103, Merkava's, and "tanks driven in reverse" like the IS-2's and TOG have better-but-not-perfect survivability. There are quite a few US tanks that seem to have a large transmission in the front of the hull that can soak up a lot of hits-... Read more
