March's 3.6.0 update will not work with the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems. Microsoft, Steam and most other game companies have already ended support for these operating systems, and we plan to do the same. This will also free up technical resources for other more impactful tasks. Thankfully, only 0.1% of users still use Windows XP or Vista. We encourage these users to upgrade to a more secure version of Windows that is actively supported by Microsoft.

We will still support a 32-bit client for users of 32-bit versions of Windows, but we strongly encourage users to use the 64-bit client if they can.

With no more support for Windows XP and Vista, we will also finally retire support for the DirectX 9 rendering mode, as DirectX 11 is fully supported in recent versions of Windows and is... Read more

The winners will be rewarded with great prizes, including Shaper T-shirts, Brutus prints and lots of hideout decorations!

It's the holiday period in New Zealand, so we don't have any development news to share today. With so many people playing Betrayal, we thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane to examine some of Path of Exile's early releases and some interesting facts related to them. Today we'll discuss the releases from Closed Beta through to Torment and Bloodlines, with the remainder covered in future news posts during the holidays. This weekend, we released Path of Exile: Betrayal, our largest expansion of 2018. Despite a few server issues in the first hours, it was one of our smoothest launches ever and hit peak player concurrency of 188,970 users (123,565 of those on Steam). This is 28% higher than our previous best-ever launch and is a record we're planning to break again in the future.

Thank you so much to the new and returning players who joined us to celebrate this release. We can't express our appreciation enough for all of your enthusiasm, feedback and support.

Over the coming week, we'll prioritise post-launch issues as they come in, alongside the development of 3.6.0 which will be released in March. In New Zealand it's common for people to take a few weeks of summer holiday around Christmas/New Year, so we'll be running a skel... Read more
