We've chosen to switch it back to the intended over the eyes to avoid major clipping of hair which can look pretty janky. Sorry for the confusion!

Chatting with the team, and it's sounding like we'll have the on forehead version available in the next patch.

The Aethersmith
Arkan Drew made one final adjustment in the interface and stepped back to admire his own work, something in which he rarely indulged himself. But if the Slayers of Ramsgate were to hunt strange new Behemoths steeped in charged terra aether, the L.A.D. Mark II would need to be precisely tuned to accommodate their lanterns. Terra, like all prime aetheric frequencies, possessed many unique qualities, and an improperly aligned attunement lens could cause a feedback loop that burned out the entire device—or worse.

Not for the first time, he wished he could join his friends in the coming hunts, if only to see his work in action against humanity’s shared foes. But he knew he was of far more use to the people of Ramsgate, the Arbourhome refugees who had taken shelter there, and his Orrery collea...

Slayer Links are still semi-disabled while we continue to investigate two crashes tied to the feature. We will update you once we have more information regarding a fix.

For now, any previously formed Links are still active but invisible. You will still earn progress and be able to claim your rewards once our fix is live.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Update 2:

We've rolled out a fix for PC users. You should now be able to see your Link Progress. Consoles will be following soon.

Hey everyone, the reason behind the change is that it does not play nicely with all hairstyles. Sorry for any confusion!

Hey everyone, the goal of this feature is to encourage more casual players to get involved in the Dauntless community. We find that Slayers who play together are more likely to make it to the end game and enjoy the full Dauntless experience. This is a chance for new players to make friends and create bonds with one another.

Don't worry!  We haven’t forgotten about our hardcore players. Heroic Escalations are in the works and they will provide a stiff challenge for those who are looking for one.

It should also be noted that the scope of this feature was fairly small. It was a quick turn around and didn't distract from other larger features such as the new hunt type and progression work.

Honestly this is just a garbage system. The idea behind it is good but RNG loot (that is useless to endgame players) and limited player interaction by forcing me to choose between friends instead of playing with any friend.

I feel like you aren’t listening to feedback more and more after every patch.

Hey there!

We see loot boxes as paid content, and this system is 100% free for all players. The goal here is to incentivize players to play with each other and to grow bonds within our game.

We just want everyone to play together and get some loot while they're at it :)
