@Psycheout86 @Ronin_Network Ok. So in order to earn (the E in P2E) players still rely on Etherium.
I've had a read. Ultimately it doesn't matter much for me what your intentions or goals are. The practical reality for players is what can be observed from the outside.
@ILoveFrank11 We are typically considering the severity of an offense and if there were previous offenses.
@hololeyy Around zero Celsius. Snow!! π
How was your weekend? π

@Juri__Q But we could certify this from our end without blockchain, with unique identifiers. π€·ββοΈ
@Psycheout86 @Ronin_Network While Ronin is PoA, isn't it as a sidechain of Etherium still connected?
Happy to get more insights. I'm always learning. π
PS: Really just a side point in the bigger P2E picture.
@CarlDaGameDev @007XUnknown π
@bugybard It's down to individual teams. Can't speak for anyone, really. I'm mostly observing.
@leon_robo_lover I guess we'll see what the future brings. The environmental impact might be solvable, ex. Ether 2.0.
@007XUnknown I'm in the "wait and see" mode right now. I haven't seen anything to convince me personally to dive into NFT in games or P2E. But who knows what the future brings.
@bugybard Not sure what you mean with this exactly or what the question is.
Above observations are my personal ones and as said initially, I try to stay neutral on the topic of NFT in games - but I haven't seen any implementations I was excited about.
@Evan5473 Congratulations!
The end. π
It is also worth pointing out that Axie Infinity essentially runs on Etherium (1.0) which has a high energy cost connected to it, which obviously makes it somewhat challenging to support it with a good consciousness to begin with.
The value of SLP is purely based on supply and demand. Fluctuations can be expected and are closely tight to the popularity of the game as an investment opportunity.
As of today the value of SLP is ~0.025$ or just over ~6$/day if you own the Axie or ~3$/day if you don't.
Yes, on higher MMR you can earn more SLP/day, but then the operation cost also increases as an average Axie won't do anymore.
If the purchaser market isn't growing but people who play to earn directly keep growing, the value of SLP goes down and so does the income.
37.5$ become 1.25$.
If players from wealthy countries are in it for the investment, then the value will only grow as long as there is new players joining (ex. pyramid). Equally players who exclusively "earn" will only earn as long as someone wants to buy.
Depending on the value of SLP Axie essentially is either an interesting investment opportunity for players with wealth and an income opportunity for others or - it's neither.
How does this look? The owner of the Axie keeps a part of the SLP earned, and the player does. All of a sudden your 75$/day become 37.5$ - or 2.5$ become 1.25$ of daily income.
