The skill without the “Twilight Assault” node only lets you throw 2 knives before recalling them. However, if you have that node, you can get 3 Bladestorms active at the same time as you’ll have the ability to throw 3 knives before recalling.

This is the intentional design of it. The Abomination will decay as soon as the skeleton threshold is met.

This is because Burning Daggers don’t actually cost mana, they consume it which is handled differently. If the tooltip for it is reducing using anything other than the node that follows it, that’s a different issue and if you have a screenshot of that showing it would be good to post that.
