You probably hear it a lot, but this is the best game I've ever played. I'm so glad that you and Jace had the fortitude and integrity with all these great surprises. This is the size epic reported on disk of the installed game - not the download.. I could look at the explorer though.

Do you know why the current experimental build is only 6 GiB in size, while the early access branch is 15 GiB on disk?
the 6gb is the download size of the difference between current experimental and new experimental. it doesnt redownload the entire game. game size should still be around the same or more.
Would it actually help development if you didn't have to worry about save compatibility for each of these major updates?
Because that is a small sacrifice that I would gladly make for the greater good (making development faster and easier).
yes, in this case it would be bonkers for us to maintain full compatibility. that would take a lot of time assuming it would even be possible.
but in the general case i think maintaining compatibility is relatively straight forward and doesn't take so much time.

It would be basically the same as experimental so I don't see any reason for it to not be compatible
it is not the same as current experimental, the update is huge. it will be likely that you can load your save game but your factory will not work and you will need to fix a bunch of stuff. so you may need to consider starting over. regardless: back up your saves!
Yeah this was as rude as you can get. Someone once told me that becoming wealthy changes a person. I suspect with as much cash Epic threw at them they've got a superiority complex so even acknowledging that they had a Steam community page at one time doersn't even phase them.

yep you should be able to. once experimental is stable we will move it to stable and it'll be the same version. but as always, just back up your saves.

it depends on the update. in this case there are so many changes that you will likely need a new file. you can try your old one but you will likely need to fix up large chunks of your factory.
