Will the crystal pickaxe inside your toolbelt work?
Yes you'll be able to remove it.

Yeah, this is true. I did forget to mention that Masterwork (and upgraded version) lacks a prayer bonus, which Malevolent has.
I think this is a bug.

Just thought of something. Will you be adding divine luminite rocks as a TH reward like divine adamantite rocks are? I assume you haven't touched TH, just curious.
No we haven't touched TH.
Goddamit Ramen.
I haven't played around in the beta much longer than an hour, but is coal going to be useful past level 40 or nah? Like, I didn't know if it had some use I didn't see for high level bars, or consuming coal to make smelting faster, or something. I'm only using it for cannonballs now :S
There's a new DG reward to replace the coal bag which consumes coal to reheat your Smithing item automatically.

What about transmutation of ores?
Not adding new tiers at this stage. If we did, they'd be balanced so they weren't worth doing anyway.
Are they adding new categories to divine locations and transmutation? Are they replacing coal in Miscellania?
We're adding divine luminite, but none of the high tier ores at this stage. Miscellania isn't changing, it will still give coal.
Congratulations, and Merry Christmas!
It's Christmas, get off reddit and enjoy time with your family :)
It's nice to have a break from the kids sometimes.
I just wanted to give thanks to Jagex and everyone in the community for being great. Some people don't get things for Christmas and this entire month of gifts and such has been a real joy. I really just wanted to vocally appreciate the pleasure this has given me, and possibly others. Merry Christmas, or your respective tradition! Happy holidays to everybody :)
Merry Christmas!
As much as you are getting hate right now, the fact is this game is huge still and getting bigger.
The fact that some of you are working Christmas day as well, is just amazing, I personally want to say thank you and I'm sure many others, who will be playing this game tomorrow will want to take the time to say thank you.
Merry Christmas and hope it's a good one, all the best.
Merry Christmas!
Do we have a exact date for the rework? That is 100% confirmed.
The plan is the 7th. Right now there's nothing threatening that. If we discover a critical bug in final testing it's possible we may need to delay.
Is there a design document somewhere containing all information for the rework? Something similar to Prifddinas' documents prior to release?
If not, what's the next best thing?
Merry Christmas!
Much like smithable pickaxes, they could just simply be toolbelt hatchets (that cap at t70 to wc chance since a wc buff is not in the scope of the project), that aren't augmentable. When/if new higher tier hatchets are released they can then just be buffed to match the new tier but remain unable to be augmented whereas the new hatchets would be able to be augmented. Sure they wouldn't be immensely useful but at least they would exist and keep smithing consistent through the tiers.
Even if they did buff wc, it's one of the slowest skills in the game and there's no free xp from d&ds like cache/wbs and its much less afk than say fishing until you can use the arc. Would it even be that bad if xp/hr was increased at level 80 and 90? From what I can tell most people seem to train via methods that offer no resources (ivy, idols, crystallise teaks/Arcadia, crystal trees, arc bamboo) and majority of logs come from Pvm.
So you're saying we should add new, higher tier pickaxes which don't actually do anything? And that would constitute "finishing" the "full update" whereas not adding them is leaving the update half-assed and unfinished?
Darts, crossbows, knives, thowing axes. Have you played Rs before?
Yes i Have and everything you could possibly need for smithing was at artisans.
Exactly SMITHING. and you've always smithed hatchets. Adding new hatchets does not equal a woodcutting rework so don't even bother using that as a pathetic excuse.
What would the new, higher level hatchets do?
