We're currently investigating issues with PTS being offline. Once those issues are resolved, the following changes will be making their way there. Prowler Rampart Defense Mesh has been refunded and removed. Rampart Projector (Defensive Slot) While deployed, the Prowler receives increased front armor and projects a hardlight barrier forward to shield allied infantry. This barrier is tied directly to the Prowler's health pool, and damage to the barrier will also damage the Prowler.
  • Rank 1: 10% additional front armor.
  • Rank 2: 15% additional front armor.
  • Rank 3: 17.5% additional front armor.
  • Rank 4: 20% additional front armor.
Misc. Changes, Fixes, and Additions
  • Changed the model for the Stealth attachment visuals on Flash and Harasser.
  • Lightning's Engagement Radar attachment now uses the correct UI camera.

Aerial Anomalies Resource rate when depositing to a Data Buoy from 50 per second to 20 per second. This ensures players have more time to kill targets with larger Tempest capacity.
  • Galaxy resource carry capacity from 1000 to 500.
  • Liberator resource carry capacity from 500 to 400.
  • Valkyrie resource carry capacity from 500 to 250.
Still working to fix an issue where vehicles are sometimes unable to acquire or deposit Tempest. Automated Bounties
  • Bounties will now be automatically placed on characters who have an active 10 kill streak or greater. There is a long cooldown between how often this can occur.
  • When a target is bountied, it receives a 5 stack of bounties immediately.
  • Kills on bountied targets now award a flat rate of experience, instead of basing it on the stack count.

  • Tank Mines and C4 now correctly despawn when detonated, and we've made additional changes that should clean up NPCs more quickly and efficiently.
  • Maximum Pressure continent event now correctly grants rewards to all participants.

  • Mentor Rating currency decay reduced to 12 per 24 hours, down from 24 per 24 hours. Rating lost at login is now capped at 100.
  • Mentor Rating per ribbon earned increased from 1 to 3.
  • NSO Valkyrie VLG no longer has a 1.5 second reload time, instead of the intended 2 seconds while unscoped.

Continent Events WE WILL BE HOSTING THE FIRST PLAYTEST OF THE NEW AERIAL ANOMALIES EVENT AT 2PM PT TODAY. Aerial Anomalies This event has been restructured to encourage more active participation and offer more tactical depth. In this new version of Aerial Anomalies, Data Buoys will appear in the center of the map, and Anomalies themselves will coat vehicles in a mysterious residue called Tempest. Players must deliver Tempest from Anomalies to the nearby Data Buoys in order to score points.

Mentor System Expansion Mentor Squads were implemented late into last year, and around that time period we had discussed implementing a Mentor rating system, but ultimately decided not to commit to the work until we knew how players would make use of Mentor Squads in the first place. Trying to craft a rating system of any kind can be difficult for a game with a sandbox focus, and is at risk to negative and exploitative behaviors. Knowing this, we wanted to devise a system that is light on gameplay rewards, and is instead geared specifically toward players who already engage in the right behaviors. Mentor System Expansion Fresh recruits enter the battlefield on a daily basis, and now we're giving you more tools to get them into fighting shape! Mentor Rating We've introduced a new Mentor Rating system that recognizes veteran community members that have made it their goal to help new players. Mentor Rating is earned each time a Mentor Ribbon is awarded. Mentor Ribbons can now only be earned while leading a Mentor Squad when players beneath BR30 earn battle ranks. Mentor Rating decays slowly over time, so it needs to be maintained to keep the benefits. Mentor Tiers Mentor Rating is sorted into tiers for recognition. These tiers are shown when players are hosting Mentor squads in the squad finder. In a later update we'll be making this tiering more visible.
  • Copper Tier: 0 - 199
  • Silver Tier: 201 - 499
  • Gold Tier: 500 - 799
  • Auraxium Tier: 800 - 1000

  • Vehicles owned by a player who logs out no longer explode.

Bug fixes
  • Clicking a Reinforcements Needed spawn location will no longer prevent the player from deploying to that area.
  • Spawning into balanced fights at contested regions with less than 60 allied population should now work.
  • Elysium Spawn Tubes greater than 1000 meters from the player are now on a 30 second spawn cooldown, opposed to 20.
  • Warpgate spawn locations for all unlocked continents should now appear at all times.

  • Players using Join Combat to travel to a new continent (like in the event that they are leaving a locked continent) will now spawn at the Warpgate, instead of being dropped from orbit without a drop pod. Eventually we'll want to resolve the issue with characters not being mounted correctly, but this is an interim solution until then.
  • Cloaked players and objects are now visible on low and very low settings. A separate client-only update will be coming out later in the day with a separate tuning pass on these visuals.
  • 3D HUD icons now snap to the correct side of the screen. This was especially noticeable while trying to track aircraft behind you.

NS-03 Thumper (New Weapon) We've released the new Thumper heavy grenade launcher to PTS. The Thumper is a Heavy Weapon available as a primary weapon option for the Heavy Assault class. By default this six round grenade launcher lobs anti-infantry fragmentation rounds with moderate damage. Two alternate ammunition types are available:
  • Disruptor Ammunition wreaks havoc on electronics, and will drain shield and ability energy a small amount on impact.

DX11, activate! The hour is at hand! DX11 has descended upon the public test server! Our testing has proven out substantial framerate increases for various hardware configurations and settings, and there are more gains to be had coming down the pipe. Alongside that, we've included all sorts of new and exciting bugs to explore! From UI brokeness, to more-slippery-than-normal vehicles, to weird animation issues, to shaders showing up incorrectly, etc. We plan to run a community playtest toward the end of next week, and a livestream before then. NC MAX We've taken another pass on the NC MAX shotguns to help with their MAX versus MAX potential, without tipping over the MAX versus Infantry balance too much. In some cases this meant increasing the default magazine sizes, hastening the reload speeds, or both. NCM1 Scattercannon
