With the upcoming event season, we'll be introducing alliance season point sharing. All season points generated will be partially shared with all alliance members. You trade risk (smaller alliances) for rewards (more season points directly for your guild). Alliance Change Cooldown will also be increased to 7 days to make it more difficult to game the system with alliance hopping.

Reason
Guilds aiming for the top spots in a season had a very big advantage if they were trying to get as many alliance members as possible. Which usually led to mega alliances fighting it out over the top spots. For the next season we want to give an incentive for highly competitive guilds to downscale their alliance size. The intention is to make Season Rankings more about the contribution of individual guilds, instead about alliances which funnel all their resources to push a few select guilds. If the feature will not perform in the way w... Read more

Hello players of Albion,

I would like to introduce you to all the upcoming changes for Season 16. We are completely overhauling castles, with new layouts and treasure chests spawning through the entire week. And we are also adding an additional 5v5 non-lethal Crystal League, which in conjunction with the new Crystal Arena should lower the entry barrier for Crystal League and bring in more players.

Castle / Castle Outpost Overhaul
For Season 16 we overhauled Castles completely, and vastly improved the Castle visuals in two entirely new layouts. And Castles now spawn high value chests throughout the entire week. Every 3 hours, every Castle and Castle Outpost has a chance to spawn a chest. This chest has a random value, which is broadcast globally one hour before it can be opened. Since all these spawns still stay synchronized, the largest power blocks can’t contest all chests without splitting up, which also allows mid-sized guilds to contes... Read more

Hello Albion Community,

Many of you probably already know about our NDA playtests, where we test upcoming changes with players of the community before they get deployed to the staging server. These playtests are a valuable source of information and provide a chance for us to get in direct contact with experienced players to get their feedback on planned changes. Check out this thread for more information about these tests:

With the upcoming standalone season, we will introduce Disarray, a Zerg Debuff mechanic. The idea here is to create a trade-off for bringing massive amounts of players. This way we want to encourage players to have more fights with smaller and better organized groups, instead of over-emphasising the sheer amount of players alone.

How this works
  • If 25 players or more of the same alliance are in the same cluster they all get a debuff: Disarray
  • This debuff reduces: Bonus Damage vs Players & Bonus Defense vs Players
  • The more players the alliance has in the cluster the stronger becomes the Disarray debuff
  • This feature will be launched with the upcoming event season
  • The debuff only applies to guilds / alliances. Groups of blue players on Royals or faction flagged players are not affected.

Hello Albion-Community,

With the upcoming Season 14 we introduce a major overhaul of the guild season system, with our new Might & Favor feature in the Lands Awakened update. We wanted to shift the focus of our Season System: More emphasis on individual player activity and less passive income by holding large guild objectives. Here is a breakdown of all the changes in Season 14:

Conqueror’s Challenge & Season Rewards
With the next update Lands Awakened we are introducing the new Conqueror’s Challenge.

In this Challenge you can unlock the majority of Season Rewards by completing most activities in lethal areas of the game. This allows individual players to earn their Season Rewards without relying only on large guild activities. Additionally the progress in the Conqueror’s Challenge is kept on the player, independent from the current guild. So all rewards can be kept even when changing guilds mid-season.

Hello players of Albion,

I am excited to announce our changes for Season 13.

Our next big content update will focus primarily on major improvements to activities in the Open World. However since the development of a new big update takes a lot of time, we want to introduce some improvements already with the start of Season 13.

Mobs found in the Open World
The fame of all existing Roaming Mobs has been doubled. Furthermore, if Roaming Mobs are not defeated, they have a chance to reroll to a more valuable mob over time. This way we can guarantee that the low value mobs are exchanged over time, even if players do not actively defeat them. This change should make rare mobs appear more often in the open world.

We are also introducing entirely new roaming mobs which are more rare and provide more valuable Loot:

Treasure Drones
Treasure Drones are rare Roaming Mobs which transpo... Read more

Hello everyone,

we will make some changes to the cluster queue, to prevent strategies that gave a big advantage by playing around the system. That strategy was based on zoning in via the queue and then immediately leaving the zone again, to get enemy players zoned out and then prevent them from re-queuing again by camping all entrances.

Changes:
  • Players who are removed from a zone via the cluster queue will receive a special Queue Removal Protection: As long as they stay close to the entrance and do not perform any actions, they will stay invisible and invulnerable, but they are also silenced and can’t attack other players for up to 150 seconds. This will allow them to stay in the queue to re-enter the zone for at least 1 queue cycle.
  • If a player moves away from the entrance, or after the 150 seconds ended, the Queue Removal Protection will be canceled, and the player will instead get a normal zone change bubbl...

Hello players of Albion,

I would like to introduce you to all the upcoming changes currently in development for Season 12.

This season we want to make ownership of territories more important for the season win and also create incentives for more activity in the Outlands outside of large battles. And we will are also making improvements to the newly introduced 20v20 Crystal League.

Large Scale Fights
Season Point Values
For Season 12 we will flatten the Season Point progression curve between the "Outer Circle" and "Inner Circle" of the Outlands to some degree.

This is intended to increase the importance of guild objectives like Territories and Castles globally as an important source of Season Point and Siphoned Energy generation. While these changes will flatten the progression curve, we are also increasing the overall output on the higher end:

Season 12 (New)

Hello players of Albion,

I am excited to announce the upcoming changes currently in development for Season 11. There are quite a lot of cool changes to look forward to.

20v20 Crystal League
With Season 11 we will introduce a completely new tier of Crystal League: The 20v20 Crystal League.
These high stakes 20v20 fights follow a similar structure to our current 5v5 Crystal League, but with the gameplay of the current city fights.

Some details:
  • 20v20 tokens can be bought at the Energy Manipulator for Level 1 and Level 2
  • The sign-up process and match schedule follow a similar pattern to the 5v5 League (see...

Hello Albion Community,

As you know we recently reworked Disarray to have its effect applied based on the difference between team sizes.

How this works
  • If 25 players or more of the same alliance are in the same cluster they all get a debuff: Disarray
  • This debuff reduces damage and Crowd Control Duration when attacking a smaller group
  • The Disarray has different levels; the bigger your alliance, the higher the Disarray Level
  • Players who are in the Queue for that cluster count for your Disarray too
  • The more players the alliance has in the cluster the stronger the Disarray debuff becomes
  • The debuff only applies to guilds / alliances - groups of blue players in Royal Continent zones or faction flagged players are not affected.

Hello Albion Community,
Here is a more detailed breakdown of how the skipping of Overcrowded clusters works. Just to make sure all guilds know all the details before the start of Season 11. :)
When a cluster is overcrowded, the Smart Cluster Queue activates for that cluster. Players who attempt to enter the overcrowded cluster get a popup menu with the following options:
  • Queue for the cluster (See ...
