Thank you! Oniram and I are really happy with how the skin turned out! My favorite Champs skin so far! I say that every year, but only because they keep getting better.
Maybe a hot take, but i don’t really care for the phantom skin. It’s bright, distracting, and I don’t think it really looks all that good. The vandal looked way cleaner imo.
It's not for everyone! Let me know if the colors grow on you. We went a lot bolder this year and tried to capture the essense of supernova.
Also wondering how people will like shooting the rocks in the finisher. It's one of my favorite parts.

Not sure how I feel. The finisher and animations are f**king awesome but the sound effects are bad which is a huge turn off for me.
I really wish Valorant let you customize skins more in general. Like let me have the other champ sound effects on this. I think thatd make them so much more money.
Sound effects are really hard to hear in the video, so I recommend you check it out in game once it's out (maybe someone will drop it for you). We worked really hard this year to make the firing sound distinct but also subtle since we heard from pros and high elo folks that they preferred more subtle firing on their Phantoms (vs. Vandal).
All the sounds are pulled from the music video anthem, so it's a lot of cool synth sounds, which might or might not be your thing!
honestly i think this frame makes it look bad, when its maxed out it will probably look really nice. I just dont understand that orb in the center though like they shouldve removed it

Read moreI bought it because it's the exact sort of thing I'm looking for and I want it to do well so more skins like it are made in the future. My thoughts after a couple games:
In terms of value, looking at the skin without considering the Familiars at all they would either be a relatively fancy 1775 skin or a perhaps underwhelming 2175 skin. Most of the animations are either stock or modified from stock, (again ignoring the Familiar) the only real effect the gun itself has when firing is an admittedly very nice looking muzzle flare effect. Beyond that there's the equip animation which isn't crazy but it feels nice to me, the finisher which is IMO relatively average, and the sound design. I really like the sound design, it sounds impactful but whimsical, and it has an effect with sustained fire where it pitches up which honestly might be a bad thing because it makes me want to full auto more to hear it lol. Models are neat, but TBH there's plenty of skins that are much cheaper w...
This is a really thoughtful analysis! Thank you! I can tell you really care and took notice of all the hard work and thought that went into making these skins! The team wanted to push the fantasy as far as possible without impacting competitive integrity / gameplay. It's a really hard balance but something we always strive to do. IMO it makes for really strong, immersive skins.

yup exactly! there are 5 animated cards and 5 titles so you can squad up with your 5-stack and each be one of the dreamwings!

The bullet sounds aren't different enough from the defaults, and I really don't like bayonets, so I'm passing on this one.
The finisher is really cool, though. If there was a way to buy just the finisher and put it on a weapon, I'd buy that.
The bullet and kill sounds are both unique. Try it out in game and lmk what you think!
