I would include the assumption that “visually incredible/performance oriented” will also account for this as much as we can. But this is a pretty theoretical conversation on outcomes we’ll have to recognize as they appear.

You will notice in this update that I mention that players are now saved online in our current Multiplayer environment. You cannot manipulate those files, and subsequently those characters. It’s going to be server authoritative.

We would definitely not want to limit MTX visuals, and we are to be as crafty as humanly possible to ensure that MTX are both visually incredible while being performance oriented.

For example, we’d not disable others’ MTX pets, I was referring to minions that are part of gameplay.

It’s not currently planned for 1.0. VOIP is it’s own set of servers, hosting considerations, account integrations, and more, it’s fun!

It is not currently planned to share Loot Filter rules, since players have instanced loot.

  1. Right now it’s about 2.5 screens worth of distance. We haven’t finalized what our final goal will be here. We’ll put it in the FAQ when we have!

  2. You will see limited VFX/minion from your group members. We want to do this in a way that still looks good while also achieving our technical goals, but performance will matter the most. We have been thinking about this particular topic for quite a long time already and we are very aware of this FPS killing risk :slight_smile:

We actually found the source of this issue. It requires some testing and optimizing, but we anticipate to have it in tomorrow’s hotfix, rather than today’s.

Yeah, we took a peek. It’s not the effect itself, it’s one of our key performance issues that we’re currently already in the process of fixing, which is optimizing the spawning of things.

With the new patch you should see changes in your Monolith Quest State. Is this still an issue?

Thanks! We have this marked internally but we might also discuss Disintegrate soon; if there’s a quick fix we’ll hit it otherwise we might address it in a more holistic look at the skill.
