At only 4 weeks in length, Season 7: Full Throttle will be the quickest MyTEAM Season to date. This is a very intense time of year with the NBA regular season ending, the Play-In Tournament, the start of the NBA Playoffs, and, of course, the Basketball Hall of Fame ceremonies.

Jayson Tatum (+1 to a 90 overall rating) continues to gain well-deserved recognition for some outstanding on court play following a highlight performance that put 60-points on the board and sparked a 32-point comeback over the San Antonio Spurs last week. 

Darius Garland had an impressive on court performance coming out of last week, scoring 20 points in six straight games and gaining three points to an 82 overall. And finally, with the Phoenix Suns battling it out for the number one seed in the Western Conference, Chris Paul’s consistent performances earns him a one point jump to an 89 overall, his highest rating since being on the Houston Rockets.

The competition is heating up with less than six weeks until the postseason kicks off. Top contenders are already making their mark with the Western conference seeing the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets holding strong as they both land six game winning streaks and hope to maintain this level of performance to propel them into top playoff spots. 

Impressive on court performances from some of the game’s most dynamic guards, Luka Dončić and Jrue Holiday, saw their ratings climb by 1 point to a 94 and 87 overall respectively. Meanwhile, Bogdan Bogdanović earns a 3 point increase to a 79 overall rating, as he surpassed the 20-point mark in four of his last five games. And Zion Williamson lives up to his reputation as one of the best finishers with his latest on court performance, gaining a 1 point increase to land a 90 overall rating and breaking him into the 90s for the first time.

A new update is now available for the current-gen version of NBA 2K21*. 

This update brings a number of fixes to MyTEAM, updates to player likeness and facial animations, new additions to 2K Beach, and additional fixes to improve the overall experience of NBA 2K21 across all game modes.

What a week in MyTEAM! The first Spotlight Sim of NBA 2K21 with 16 Pink Diamond and 3 Galaxy Opal reward players, the first Dark Matter players appearing in Pantheon: All-Star packs, a new Champion crowned in our third MyTEAM Unlimited $250,000 Tournament, and now, we have revealed the rewards for the Golden Age and Modern Age collections! The top tier of NBA 2K21’s MyTEAM has arrived, Dark Matter! Featured in the new Pantheon: All-Star packs, the one and only Michael Jordan and NBA 2K21 Cover Athlete Zion Williamson are the first-ever Dark Matter player cards in MyTEAM!

Both the Pantheon: All-Star and Hero versions of these Dark Matter players usher in the highest tier of power you will see in MyTEAM. MJ & Zion are forces to be reckoned with on the MyTEAM courts.

It’s NBA All-Star 2021 this weekend!

Following last night’s Draft, the teams are ready to rock the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Sunday March 7 where the league’s annual global celebration of the game will take place on one night for the first time.

Prior to the Game, some of the Association’s most skilled big men and guards will battle it out in the Taco Bell® Skills Challenge. Will Luka Dončić’s 93 overall NBA 2K21 rating help him win or will one of the best point guards to play the game, Chris Paul (88 overall rating) take the title?

Also taking place before the Game, can one of the greatest three-point shooters ever, Stephen Curry (98 three-point rating) win the MTN DEW® 3-Point Contest or will 2018 champion Devin Booker (86 three point rating) reign supreme? Whoever wins, it’s certainly going to be a clinic in three-point shooting prowess.

With NBA All-Star voting open for a week, we’ve seen some strong on court performances from a number of frontcourt players that will be hoping to be selected. Just in time for the holidays, a new update is now available for the current-gen version of NBA 2K21*! Today’s update is short and sweet, bringing new winter seasonal decorations to 2K Beach, various bug fixes as well as adjustments in MyCAREER and MyTEAM. More details are available below:

General

• Winter holiday has arrived at 2K Beach with new seasonal decorations and themed courts now available.

MyCAREER

• MyCOURT’s Limitless free throw drill is now set to use the 2K camera setting.

Hello 2K fam! For those that don’t know me, I’m Dave Zdyrko, Senior Producer on NBA 2K21. I have been working with Visual Concepts on 2K titles for nearly 14 years, split up into two different stints. The first run lasted 6+ years and saw me working as a Gameplay Producer & Designer on the football titles from NFL 2K3 through All-Pro Football 2K8 plus one year working on NHL. 

Part two of my journey started as we were making our first foray onto the then “next-gen” consoles with NBA 2K14 for PlayStation®4 and Xbox One. During this time was when we debuted MyGM, an all-new franchise mode experience that put you in control of a team’s general manager and had you deal face-to-face with the team’s governor, staff, and players as you tried to balance your relationships with everyone while trying to field a competitive team and successful franchise. ...

Autumn leaves descend onto the court, which means it’s time for another update for NBA 2K21! As part of the fourth update for the current-gen version of NBA 2K21, Visual Concepts is adding new Fall themed decorations to 2K Beach, as well as player likeness and tattoo improvements for nearly 80 current NBA players, WNBA players and historic NBA players! We’re roughly a week out from the release of NBA 2K21 for the next-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. I can’t believe it is basically already here! As I noted in the last Courtside Report I wrote, it has been an incredibly unique year for all of us here at VC, as it has been for many of our friends in the entire video games industry.
