Hey! Let’s start with a quick note on Yoru from our Character Producer, John Goscicki:

Hey all, wanna touch on the Yoru changes we were hoping to get out by 3.02. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the team is going to have to indefinitely delay the Yoru updates. We’re in a situation at the moment where certain resources needed to do this work are unavailable to us. As soon as we get a clearer picture of when we can ship these changes, you’ll be the first to know. Sincere apologies to everyone who has been looking forward to these.

What we do have is a lineup of new crosshair settings, the ability to shoot through Radianite crates, and a system to make it easier to revert AFK penalties due to server issues on our end.

There’s also the following Viper bug fix:

For Dani, placing no.4 on the North American VALORANT Leaderboards is simply the cherry on top for all his time spent practicing to go pro.

His pro journey began in earnest after he made a friendly rival of Tyler “Ninja” Blevins before getting the invite to join a pro team assembled in part by the big league streamer.

Dani, 21, is a Sova main and college student studying software engineering out of Canada’s capital. From as early as nine years old, Dani mastered FPS games like Combat Arms, Alliance of Valiant Arms, and of course, CS:GO.

“I was really into esports as a kid,” he said. “My favorite team was Cloud9 with Sean Gares and all them.”

The biggest hurdle to his shot at the pros, Dani said, was the lack of good PC hardware. After a two-year break for school, and a subsequent internship, Dani was finally able to buy a desktop that could keep up with the demand of high-level play.

It was around this time that VALORANT Closed Beta launched, and, ...

Hi again everyone! I’m Chris Stone, a weapons artist on the VALORANT Premium Content team. I last wrote about how our team collaborated to build the tech behind the Spline skins. Now that both League of Legends crossover skins are in-game, the team wanted to share how we got Ruination and Sentinels set off the ground, as well as how we used this as an opportunity to develop new “materials” for VALORANT skins.

OUR NEW MATERIALS

Sentinels of Light is Riot's big summer event, bringing the “Ruined” and "Sentinel" thematics to each of our games. Although VALORANT doesn’t occupy the same ...

TL;DR: Team Besties was found to have utilized unregistered players during VALORANT Game Changers to gain a competitive advantage. Furthermore, Team Besties did not cooperate with the subsequent investigation. Team Besties registered Jenna “koi” Tang, Katie “kateuuu” Tran, Mia “kei” Leong, Jasmine “memrice” Huynh, and Jennifer “wetboosy” Li as players and Bella “soju” Rierad as their manager. Lore is only as good as its keepers, and if you’ve ever wondered just what’s going on in the VALORANT universe, Annie—who goes by “Cynprel”—has some stories for you.

At first, VALORANT was simply Cynprel's latest game. They were a heavy Apex Legends player but only ever lurked at the edges of that game’s lore community. VALORANT was the first game where Cynprel leapt from observer to content creator.

“I love being able to pick things apart. During the closed beta, I put together a reddit thread and was one of the few people ...

Episode 3 will add a new way to recognize and reward you for your time playing in all VALORANT game modes—even retroactively! Your account Player Card will now display a numeric level based on how much you play, that goes up the more time you put in.

Since launch, we’ve looked at various ways to improve our progression system and Account Leveling is the first opportunity we jumped on for a number of reasons. The team will continue to investigate more ways to make the system even better, and we’ll keep you posted when we have more to say.

Read how it works below.

WHAT IS ACCOUNT LEVELING?

In VALORANT, we have many ways to reward those of you who play from an hour a day to all day. However, we lack ways to tangibly reward you based on your loyalty and time invested in the game, and not just Competitive play. Account leveling is our way to recognize and reward.

This is a new long term system for your account and can be found as a bo...

Aside from the below, don’t forget the rest that is coming as part of Episode 3 Act I, which you can read about in our summary. Now a word from our design leads:

While there are a lot of changes with this patch, they are focused around refining two critical components of the game: Increasing the importance of precise gunplay and expanding the tactical sandbox.

When we think of VALORANT, we consider every map, weapon, and character to be a part of an ever-changing sandbox where you can use your skill and creativity to overcome any challenge you face. We believe VALORANT is at its best when you face a wide variety of unique ch...

TL;DR: During VALORANT Masters Reykjavík, Zellsis violated rule 7.1.2 of the Global Competition Policy which mandates that players observe the highest standards of personal integrity and good sportsmanship at all times. As a result, Zellsis is suspended for the first Challenger Open Qualifier and first Challenger Main Event of Stage 3.

Context

On May 28th, during the team’s player check in and rule review session, Zellsis made a categorically offensive and discriminatory remark about a tournament official.

Sanctions

Offensive comments made on the basis of gender or race are in direct violation of the standards expected of players participating in the VALORANT Champions Tour. Accordingly, Zellsis is suspended for the first Challenger Open Qualifier and first Challenger Main Event of Stage 3. Any subsequent violations of this policy will result in increased penalties including suspension, forfeiture of pr...
