I didn't know this was a thing. I haven't seen this mentioned around the forums at all, so I think you may be the first to mention having a problem. When did you first notice you weren't able to equip the skin?

That simply doesnt solve the issue i mentioned at all, which is the kill being rewarded to the wrong guy not the points. I dont even think ingame pointd have any impact at all so they dont matter. Simply make it so the guy who injured someone is rewarded the kill. Simple. Solution. Noone is treated unfair.
