If you gift to someone else it is sort of like donating in their name. They will get the credit for it, so they will get the title. The title is granted to a player when the Extra Life Karma Booster or the Mini Guardian Angel Aurene enters their inventory.

Did you pick it up from the mail? It's keyed in to the item entering your inventory.

this is the correct answer!

so, technically they can, even if it's a bad practice to do changes after that deadline. That said, and I'm totally not saying I was irresponsible like this, but some devs make a change and then forget to write up the patch note until it's too late.

it should actually be fixed now, but I missed the patch-note window.

Quick clarification. The way the cross-map data works, you have to log in to one of the maps where the community goal bars are displayed to get the community goal rewards. That would be all of the maps where the tracked events occur, or any city. And yes, once you've contributed at all you will be eligible for all community goal rewards.

He knows what I do, and is somewhat familiar with the game but doesn't actually play it. He's only 7, and while I think the content of the game isn't too mature for him, he hasn't really grown up playing keyboard and mouse games (mostly tablet and now Switch), so the controls would be pretty frustrating for him at this point. He does love when I pull up some creature's art file and make them dance.

Oh boy. I'm going to take a moment to get all sappy over this. My son drew that picture! I've worked on this game for nearly nine years, on virtually all aspects of it, but seeing this screenshot this morning really brightened my day.

Fun Fact:

This is a test item called, "The Pillow"

It is full of various skills to instantly kill or damage enemies in various ways. Unfortunately, no, you won't be able to obtain it.

We are working on it! Unfortunately changes like this take a lot of testing and we weren't confident we could give it the attention it needed before the release. They will make their way in to the wallet at some point in the future.

Gorrik engineered Petey from what he was able to find, and his interpretations of what a roller beetle should be. He used elements from the scarab plague. Similar to Jurassic Park and the scientists "filling in the gaps" with frog DNA. In the end we don't know any more or less about GW1 beetles than we did before.

By not making it a hard requirement. We wouldn't have central-line content depending on having a roller beetle, but there can be extra things you can do and find, or different ways to experience things.

Having such awesome abilities - would be great to take these elsewhere given that to keep them running require the new map’s pseudo-turret-currency (thus helping a bit with the replayability/motivation to play problem)

They were designed to be part of this map exclusively. They had a little more integration in the story early on, but some of that was lost. We had started discussing allowing them in other maps, but at the point the discussion happened it was too late to do it with the amount of testing we deemed needed for such a change. That said, we are discussing the possibility of loosening the restriction in the future.

This beetle collection was great. Can we hope for more core-tyria collections with new living stories? Also, more only core-tyria collections? And maybe some only orr related?

It is exceptionally likely that you'll see collections in the future take you back to core tyria maps. As for core-tyria-only collections, it's possible (I'd even say likely) that we would make some, but probably not as part of a Living World episode.

I really enjoyed the Beetle collection and the addition of the new mount, but looking forward I'm slightly worried about Petey.

Are there any plans to implement Petey either in previous maps (races in vanilla GW2, you know you want to!) or looking forward will he still be part of our gameplay (kind of like Jackal portals being nifty short cuts)?

Given the episodic nature of LW, I'm scared that he'll be used only for Kourma and we won't see the need for Petey any more.

Thanks!

Glad you're enjoying it! Petey will not be forgotten as we go forward in the rest of the season.

Hey all. Just wanted to pop in and say that this was probably not our most thought-through achievement. We kept it on standard with the other SAB backpack (SABackpack?) collections, but didn't really consider the sort of pressure this would apply to you. We're investigating various options to rectify this. The basis of what we want to do is make it so you don't need all 16 weapon skins to get the backpack, but exactly what that looks like we haven't solved yet. Unfortunately, we won't be able to get a change out during this festival. Changing live achievements is very risky, and we want to make sure we have a solution that doesn't have the risk of losing player progress and works retroactively.

The Avocado Smoothie is currently a top level food (but shouldn't be), and has next to top level stats (level 75). The level will be updated in the near future. The goal for that food was to provide a much more accessible, but deliberately 'B' tier option for power builds. There weren't any other options in this regard, and we also didn't want to hurt the Butternut Squash Soup too much.

Question for you Z, when will we get to see your armory?

Not Z, but I happened to see his inventory one day. Two things that stood out from the experience:

  • Z has way more in-game wealth than I do
  • Z's inventory organization made me feel sick

Do with this info what you will.

Some examples:

-Flameseeker Prophecies does not turn pages on skill use

-Predator does not breathe fire on skill use

-Quip does not spin around on skill use

The weapon assets themselves were never changed. Some deep level code change caused this to stop happening. We are investigating how to get it working again.
