I'm not involved in the fix so I can't give an updated estimate or really speak to it, but we have a strike team that's been working hard on this issue and nothing else for the last few days. They're testing a new build for it at this exact moment.

I just checked and we have all of The Grander Plaza's translations for all languages complete in data, so something funkier is happening to make it not show here. Gonna send this off to QA, thanks for reporting!

I mean more that we almost always change it in dev before it releases, but our system is thankfully very robust so it's not a huge deal if it ships.

For example, Avenging Vastaya used to create his ambush skill when he transformed for any reason. If you Hextech Transmogulator'd something else into him while combat was resolving, he'd put it on the stack as the very last thing to resolve. Technically functional, but unintuitive enough to change his card text to completely prevent it.

Also, glad to see your video confirms a question I was having with this interaction. The opponent attacked but got the first priority after the attack phase finished since your Cannon Barrages resolving automatically passed priority back to them. Only learned the other day about how this timing of "burst" speed skills works with priority, when someone here was asking about Leona and Heaven's Aligned passing prio.

Hey that's me! We have indeed aligned on changing it to Play in a future patch; our system can handle creating skills at weird timings like mid-combat, but it's not intuitive and we try to avoid it as much as we can.

Those two are near the top of the list for existing champions to add to TPoC! I too am very excited for them, their playstyles seem like a perfect fit for Path

Was this determined to be okay because it's an uncommon situation? It requires the neeko player to draw at least 3 specific cards (2 original neeko + the created one)

Yeah, you need to draw those 3 specific cards and roll a specific card as her disguise. It's not common at all.

Correct, it's the former. Her true identity is tied to the follower she was played as, copies of any kind are copies of the disguise only.

Paging u/bkopleck

It's thankfully straightforward: if she's not created, her disguises won't count as created. If she is created, like by her champion spell, her disguises count as created.

thanks for doing this, this is brilliant

A silenced disguised Neeko still counts as a Neeko, and any Neekos in hand will be still be champ spells until she leaves play.

Yep! Last Breath will trigger.

Correct! Neeko's true identity persists through all transforms.

A permanent silence like Minimorph will forever trap Neeko in her follower form. Any Neeko champ spells in hand won't transform back, however, as we didn't want to have this happen if the silence was temporary.

(but honestly at the point where your opponent is Purifying every 2 cost follower on sight, you've won the war)

Cunning Kitten does not count as created in this case. Neeko's disguises are considered alternate forms that the card can take, like Frostcoat Mother is to Frostcoat Cub, or Shadow in the Brush for Ambush units.

Correct! Followers that target work just fine, as do followers than Manifest. These are the only three that don't work.

Just tweeted this but wanted to make sure it's here for y'all too:

There are three 2 cost followers that are in her origin but will not appear in her disguise pool: Blastcone Seedling, Harbinger of Thralls, and Frostcoat Cub

These followers have choice options, which does not work with Neeko's disguise choice tech. When these options were present during dev, choosing them would give you the base card form e.g. you'd get a Blastcone Seedling with no keywords. This not only gave you a worse unit, but also gave away that you just played Neeko, so we really didn't want to let that happen.

The engineering required to make these cards work with Neeko is effectively a non-option, so after a few weeks of discussing different solutions, we aligned on having a banlist for exactly these three. This solve also lets us handle any future problematic 2c origin-subtyped followers should they arise.

All of the other...

You're thinking that you're gonna mystic shot a brush and kill nidalee, but you don't know that. It could be anything, and even if it's something like the overwhelm, you're still only trading 2 mana and 1 card each, and mystic shot is a really important card to take away. And the opponent has the choice of whether they want to save the brush or not, they could let it die if it's not important, or spend the 1 mana card to try to save it or be mana positive if you spend another removal.

Mystic shotting a brush is a gamble that is (not by much but still) in favor of the person who played the brush. I also really want to know if the ambush is revealed when you kill the brush, if it isn't that's even more annoying. But it totally still is a "what's in the brush" mind game.

i can confirm the original ambush unit is revealed in the game log when a brush leaves play (with the exception of recall, i believe)
