i have 700 hours in the game...has this feature.....always been there...
Nah, we added it a while back when we deprecated the old PC UI. It didn't quite make sense to maintain two seperate UI:s so we took the time to add a bunch of quality of life changes for the new UI to make the transition worth it for veteran players. This was one of those QoL features

There is a little cogwheel next to your weapon in the inventory that allows you to customize your equipment

Edit: I have no idea why this worked, but I started up a Quick Match, set it to Normal, and just left it searching for a match (I didn’t set it to host myself).
After a minute or two, the “Hold LB to Host” changed to “Hold LB To Start Game”, and then a “Are you sure you want to start without a full group” msg, and once selecting “Yes”, I was loaded into the start of the mission with bots!
Praise be to the Emperor, and this janky unintuitive system can Sugmar Dick
Quick play will search for games with several easing rotation on the rules that in total is 30s IIRC. If you just do custom game and make it private you will get the choice to start directly

tbf its crazy you guys still do anything at all with vt2, but i love that you do, its such a crazy good game. i hope someone at fatshark bonk their head and get stuck with an obsessive thought to compete with deeprock galactic and just go wild on the vt2 updates.
the chaos wastes update may be one of the greatest updates to a game ever, just out of nowhere "here, have this totally new gamemode on our old game".
