Once you do the little tutorial as Kruber, you'll end up in the keep. There's a skull on the left side just near the door where you load in. Or just press your H key to open the character select screen.
There is also a a link to the character selection menu in the escape menu
I just hopped on a restarted the game, and it worked :/
I tried it before and it didn't work, but for some reason now it did. I didnt get to try and reinstall it, so I'm not sure what did it. The only thing different is that I plugged in an external hard drive that doesn't have a byte of data for the game. Maybe it's a storage issue..?
Reinstalling is only a thing on PC since Steam can be a little weird sometimes. We are still gathering information about this issue. It only happens for some people and only sometimes so it's really hard to track down
We've heard about this bug from time to time but haven't been able to reproduce it. Does it work if you exit to main menu and start the game again? (You don't have to do the tutorial again)

This was an unforseen side effect when updating the backend in preparation for the drachenfels release. Should work now. Sorry about that
The update fixed a memory issue, a rare store crash and a few issues with the offline mode
