@cyromarley wow, cute!
@EDS_Sora There's also the ending of syllables on consonants. In Katakana, every letter is a syllable, so every syllable about from "n" ends with a vowel. So English becomes Ingurishu. Valet becomes Bare. Silly becomes Shirrii. And like you said, Cancel becomes Kyanseru.
@EDS_Sora Indeed, and it also fails to take into account the phonetics that exist in other languages that are not possible to re-create with Katakana. That's why the difference between L and R, M and N, V and B is a big problem when learning, in this case, English.
@lolgod161 I do prefer Mr. Bean 😆
@InTheLittleWood I'm sure Mr. beast has many fans in Japan, as his content is so accessible to all kinds of audiences, but it might not be as in the main stream as it is in the west. They have their own big YouTubers and are generally drawn to Japanese content, such as Hikakin or Hajime Shacho.
@_Hawkon But when they learn English in school, they learn it using Japanese phonetics, Katakana, to help them read the word, but katakana is limited to the phonetics of the Japanese language, so it massively limits their chances to learn the actual pronunciation.
@_Hawkon Of course Japanese is vastly different from English and it might be easier for Europeans to learn it because of the shared vocabulary, but I've heard Japanese people speak perfect English after spending time overseas.
Although, the biggest factor is the lack of English abilities country-wide, and you might ask why that is, and the cultural self-sufficiency is part of that, but it's also the way they learn English using katakana.
I asked my wife if she knows who Mr. Beast is, and she said no, and whether I mean "Mr. Bean". She's from Japan. I think there is a lot of western pop culture that most Japanese people have no clue about. Japan is kinda culturally "self-sufficient", so less need to look outside.

8 years of owning Omnisphere and only now I realise there is a "Multi Browser" with hundreds of patches I never knew was there.
@NoonWithATune Hm, shame about the Mac Studio! I was considering getting one as well as an upgrade, but if there's too many incompatibility issues I'll probably not get it for now...
