Hi!

We are aware of a number of players running into problems with connecting to their private server. If you are experiencing the **Error: Server Error** when trying to connect to your private server, it would help us a lot if you could send us the log files on Discord (sls_Filippa).

**In the message, please include the following:**

*Files:*
1. The Player.log file from the session where the server error occured (located here: %localappdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising )
2. The Player-server.log file (located here: %localappdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising )
3. The crash.dmp file for the crash data (located here: %localappdata%\Temp\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Crashes\ )

*Information:*
When did the issue start?
What happens? Please be as detailed as possible.
How can the issue be reproduced?
Have you tried any solutions?

If you have recently switched computers, however, the server is saved locally and has to be manually transferred from your old computer to your new one. If you haven't transferred your server, this might be why you are having trouble connecting to your own server. We are implementing a fix for this in the future so that servers will be saved on the cloud instead.

**In order to transfer the server from your previous computer:**

1.) On your previous computer, locate the Saves folder here: %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising
2.) Copy the saves in the folder and transfer them to your new computer
3.) Place the saves in the game's save folder on your new computer

Hi!

You will be able to message Filippa if you join the V Rising Discord server, as you will have a common server with her then. Here is the server link: discord.gg/vrising

Please attach the logs in your message, as they greatly help us understand the cause of the issue and how to help.

There are a couple of known reasons that can cause issues when players try to connect to their own server:

A.) You have recently switched to a new computer. Saves are kept locally at this time, but we are working on a fix for saving them on the Steam Cloud in the future.
If this is the cause of your issue, you can solve it by manually transferring the server files from your old computer to your new one:
1.) On your previous computer, locate the Saves folder here: %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising
2.) Copy the saves in the folder and transfer them to your new computer
3.) Place the saves in the game's save folder on your new computer

B.) A save has become corrupt due to running out of memory or another file writing issue. We are working on a fix for this that will likely be included in the next patch, so that saves are less likely to become corrupt.
If this is the cause of your issue, you can solve it by making sure there is enough free memory available on your disk, and then loading an earlier save. Unfortunately, this might result in some lost progress. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to bring the server save fixes into the game as soon as possible.

Don't hesitate to contact us on Discord if you have any more questions.
