[2023] weird network/ping issue

I live in virginia and get great networking because i am so close to the severs but for a wedding i flew out to california and ended up wanting to queue up Some Valorant. But to my surprise when i log on, the best networks end up being the closest virginia... nOT California where i currently am. if anyone knows how to fix this please help me
