I'm the few people who dont like the reaver skin set (except maybe sheriff), but I absolutely love this one. The variant in particular is amazing, the blue one remind me of like dark star vibe, red feels very 'shyvanna-like'

I’m a league player and I absolutely love the blade of the ruined kind. The upgrade is so badass. I feel like the skin is a mix of singularity and reaver, which I also really love, and adding the black mist aesthetic to it is so good. Fantastic job with the skins!

I asked about melee variants in the Q & A you guys did a while back and Swaggernaut said you were looking into the best way to do it. So yeah this is great. The orange and purple variants are perfect for me as a phoenix/reyna main.

I was a league player yeah, still very intrested in its world and lore, but in this case I just really like the skins, the smokey effect on the Ghost in particular is definitely one of my favorite so far. Plus the kill animation is incredible, eery and unsettling, i love it

Boringgggg. Just call this the uninspired reaver set. These skins don’t even have unique sound effects upgraded lmfao. The phantom literally has the default sound effect. Pure laziness. Everyone is goin batshit over viego’s sword lol. That is the most obnoxious looking thing to have for a melee. It covers like half your screen! Hello? Yeah that novelty will wear off...FAST
There is unique audio (firing, equip, reload, and inspect) for all of the weapons.

Is anybody mildly annoyed at the fact that almost none of the "new skin reveal" videos showcase the ace sound effect? Especially since each skin set has their own sounds, it would only make sense to showcase it at reveal along with other aspects of the skin.
We can start encouraging influencers to add this. Tbh, we forgot this time.

Personally, I love the kill banner and the equip sounds the most. I love spamming the equip pre-round.

I mostly play Val but occasionally I am a Teemo main , terrorizing top lane with my cuteness, lol. Personally I am going to buy this skin pack because of how amazing it looks and not it's ties to LoL. When a pack like this first got leaked, I told myself that I'd only purchase it if it was a pack that could stand alone from LoL while alluding it, which Ruination has done marvelously! Ty! <3 ggs!

Honestly thought when the Oni skin had the Jhin sounds that you guys would add more league sounds as well. Love the sounds on these guns. Would love a bulldog that sounds like a jinx auto attack. Or sheriff with Miss Fortune auto sound, etc. great stuff!
You know, I'm not actually sure if Oni uses Jhin's sounds. It does sound similar-ish right? I'll ask!

Yes, it has unique/custom SFX for firing/shooting, equip, reload, and inspect. I think it's just hard to tell in the video above. Check it out in the in-game videos once you can access them!
I still remember seeing the pitch for the Ruination skinline and I knew that I NEEDED to get on it! Working on the Black Mist was such a blast, I loved every bit of it

Latter, I used to play league but that was like a good half decade ago, even more I think so I don't identify myself as a league player anymore but the crossover is hella cool and the skin itself is cool, the way you're doing it on your main title games right now is really awesome. Keep it up Riot, ya'll are absolutely destroying it right now, for people who aren't aware, Riot also released their biggest balance pass for Runeterra and is quite possibly the best patch it has ever had since it released last year and the game right now feels so fresh and the meta isn't even figured out yet, it's so fun to watch almost at the same time as what Ep.3 did for Valorant as well.
I'm glad the crossover feels cool even as someone who doesn't play League anymore! And yeah all of Riot's games are doing awesome stuff right now. It's a great time!

Never watched this sort of spotlight before (except for Origin) and I really love that they talk about the details of the skin line. For example the fact that the gun buddy ist viegos wedding ring and that you also have the ring on when you use the knife or from where all the shooting sound effects we're inspired by. Also never watched videos from that influencer and In really liked his engagement with the developers in that video which prompted me to subscribe to him. All in all, at least for me, it was worth watching, worth for the yter since he got at least 1 new viewer and worth for the developer because I will definitely buy the Phantom skin.
I agree that missing the kill sound/ace sound feels bad but that's alright since I can just search for that specific detail when the skin ist out.

Oh snap! A reply from Riot! I really liked Shyvana and the Guardian. The sound and power of the shot was so satisfying. Gwyn and the ghost was also really nice with its more subdued shot.
Though I do love Shyvana, I'm a personal fan of the Phantom w/ the Viego sfx.
I loved the attention to detail you guys put with the audio, the ghost sounds like gwen Q and the phantom with Viego E. Definitely a masterpiece Kudos!

I asked! Sadly, I was told that the Oni finisher doesn’t use Jhin's sounds. but it's the same instrumentation which is why it sounds similar!

The Ruination skins have a color called "necroteal."
Do you by any chance know what SFX was used from Ruined Karma? My friends and I could all figure out/assume the others, but even our resident Karma main was stumped on what the SFX was used for.

What do you mean? Unique here means we added custom audio to the skin, the same as we do for any skin. For firing/shooting, we always include the base audio as part of the audio for competitive integrity (you should always be able to tell what gun you’re firing, regardless of the skin). Reaver, Prime, Forsaken, Ruination, etc. are all the same - we used the base gun’s audio and customized it so it has unique firing audio.

It has custom audio for the equip, reload, inspect, and firing. The audio for the Phantom is specifically based on Viego from League of Legends.
Odds of you guys turning up the 'ghostly' sound on the phantom a notch? The sound effects on the 3 other guns are great but its hard to tell that its actually there for the phantom, seems like quite a few other people have voiced that in the comments aswell

Oni doesn’t actually have custom firing audio at all! What you’re hearing is probably the kill sound (kill banner), which all skins with the custom kill icon have (including Ruination). Ruination had both custom firing audio and the custom kill banner icon and sound.
Turning the firing audio up a notch is tricky because when we do it too much, we risk causing confusion for people who aren’t sure what gun they picked off the ground. We always include some of the base firing sound because of competitive integrity. We’ve also seen players be really sensitive to custom audio when we push it further, like we did with the Origin Vandal.
Our audio designer spent a lot of time here trying to strike a balance between custom audio and also still making sure the base sounds are present. This skin went through a lot of feedback but it was too unrecognizable at times, so we had to dial it back. I’m hoping we struck a good balance of having custom audio but not upsetting players who don’t want skins interfering with their gameplay.

Again, totally get this but I personally wouldn't have seen anything wrong with it after looking at whats already in the game (and the rest of the bundle). Does this mean that future skins' audio will be dialed back compared to past releases?
Woah! I love how invested you are in this stuff that you've been commenting on skins for so long! Thank you for being so into it! So that comment was about the other audio actions (like reload/equip). We wanted to see if players wanted custom firing at all back then, since Prime/Sovereign/Elderflame all had custom firing audio.
To your second comment, you'd think that, right? :D But actually those skins were tested so there's still elements there that draw it back to the base skin in terms of recognizability. Audio is something we're still testing a lot to see how far we can push it without interfering with gameplay.
And I think we're at a point where we'll keep experimenting to see what works. I personally thought the Phantom audio was very distinct. Maybe it's harder to tell in videos vs. actually using the skin, but the firing audio is incredibly unique and really satisfying to shoot with. The equip/reload/inspect audio is of course awesome, too.

No worries at all! I love talking to you all about this stuff, so I appreciate the questions. We're so used to seeing the same stuff over and over, so it's hard for us to tell what feels different or unique to players. So good to hear a fresh perspective. We do lots of surveys and tests, but talking on reddit one-on-one to a player is more fun and more casual.

Yes, there is. Forgot to mention it. We call that the kill banner, which is the custom icon and sound when you get a kill.

Yup, like most of the top tier skins have! When we do a Finisher, we usually do a kill banner too.
Lies. The phantom’s firing audio is not unique. That’s what you call default. Just Laziness. Who the hell cares about inspect audio? I’m not gonna inspect the thing most of the time.
Hm, it is unique firing audio. Maybe you’re less familiar with the default Phantom sounds and not able to tell the difference? Listen to both back to back. If you can’t tell or don’t like it, it’s no problem. We make skins for difference audiences, so not everyone is going to love everything.
