[2022] Major Update: "Drone Age" - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion

It was more to do with the estimated performance of the aircraft for the Hunter, not year of introduction as it was inside of the games cut-off date anyway. Until we managed to get all of the required details on it, its flight performance was what was holding it back. Im well aware of the work that went into that aircraft, as it was me visiting many museums for photos and documentations on it.

I would ask once again to keep things on topic and not derailing to subjects that have nothing to do with the major at hand.

Currently it doesn't have an aircraft. But it is still being worked on, so its a bit too early to say at this time.

Plans for ship borne aircraft are underway and we do have a few ships we are looking into for aircraft now. It's a little too early to say spesifcally what aircraft (or era of) they will receive at this time until any final decisions are made.

Naturally all these new features have been optimised as far as possible internally, however we will of course be checking feedback and reports for any signs during testing when it becomes available.

Not with this patch, but there will be constant improvements to the feature over time. So I'd recommend leaving feedback in the changelog topic when the time comes and we can pass the ideas on.

We don't have any further news to share at this time unfortunately.

We don't have any current plans at all to at Czechoslovakia as a sperate nation right now. So it's not really a concern.

If in the very distant future we did or plans changed, then it would be exactly the same as all previous instances of when there was a premium in an existing nation when a new one comes.

Those vehciles were not ready to show and some still are not, as we have explained multiple times now.

Content for majors is planned out well in advance and worked on for long periods. But the finalization of 3D models / DMs etc is some of the last things to be done. So not all of the vehciles are ready to show from the get go, but have been worked on for the same period and always planned to come. We have plans for blogs in advance, but naturally it's still dictated by when models are ready to show.

@gromvoiny) this just replaces the model entirely.

They just happen to suit best as premiums for the nations they are going into. We have generally always had premiums from nations not in game like this.

Light tanks for Israel are quite few and far between. We have some options in mind for consideration, but certainly not this update.

Again, its still a bit too soon to be answering something like this. A few things are still WIP and until we get a bit closer, the final landscape of what will be in the patch is hard to fully quantify right now. I (or anybody else) wouldnt want to say this early as things can still change.

There's no intentional balancing reasons as to why the vehicles don't have the feature in game that I'm aware of. More likely, that there was not enough solid material / understanding of the system to implement it, if it differs from an existing system in game perhaps. So a suggestion would be welcome.

It's simply modern crew added for modern vehciles. Not a complete remodel of all crew. Swedish crew was mostly ww2 era crew models. Like Japan, we simply added more modern crew.

Not all nations have equal options when it comes to light tanks. As I mentioned above, we have some plans in mind for Israeli light tanks. But it won't be this patch.

It's very much still wip right now. So can't say for sure what will make release at this time. To answer your previous question, we don't plan a blog at the moment. But may highlight it more in the future.

We don't plan (currently) to have them for any form of research/ tree. Purely in gameplay.

Magic 2 fully matches its known characteristics so far in terms of manoeuvrability at 35G. The claimed 50G of some sources is conflicted with other sources as well as the known constructional differences between Magic 1 and 2 that would allow it to achieve such an increase. Some sources have also confused Magic 2 with MICA. The only reports open on Magic 2 under review are for an increased burn time and increased 45 degree gimbal limit. For the AIM-9L, the only reports we have open still under review are AIM-9L Incorrect max lock angle and incorrect maximum all aspect locking range for the AIM-9L against afterburning target. These haven't been validated by the devs yet.

As far as im aware, we have had only covering seeker range and a value of 4.5km is being checked. But again, has not been fully validated.

Magic 2, R-60M and AIM-9L already have superior anti-countermeasure resistance over other missiles.

The implementation of Python 3 has nothing to do with a lack of information. Missiles are added based on balance needs.

Things being in the files are pretty meaningless most of the time and don't mean something's coming this patch. There's no more aircraft for the US or Israel this patch, unless something changes.

Not this patch. Focus was the Chinese helicopters this patch for them.

Harrier GR.1 and Lightning F.53 are already there for GE / Pack premiums, so it isn't necessary to have a new premium right now in that area.

Mostly all of these are unique models. Unique to the Chinese tree. That was the priority.

As I mentioned previously, we don't have any plans for scout helicopters.

Drones are being developed still and feedback will be reviewed. At the moment however, in terms of game balance, scout drones are as intended currently.

We essentially had the equivalent of two Dev servers with the extended opening and updating of the server when it was up.
