After the three empires that divided Poland’s land among themselves — Russia, Germany and Austro-Hungary — were defeated in the First World War, Poland had the chance to restore its independence. On November 11th 1918, Marshal Jozef Pilsudski led the Second Polish Republic. This date is celebrated today as the National Day of the Independence of Poland.

About this aircraft
  • Lanovski’s P-47M-1-RE[wiki.warthunder.com] is the fastest variant of the infamous Thunderbolt. Not only is it an excellent fighter featuring 8 x 12.7 mm Browning machine guns, but is also an attack aircraft that is capable of carrying bombs up to 1000 lb as well as HVAR rockets. This one was flown by Witold Lanovski — a Polish ace who served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. During this period, Lanovski flew 179 combat missions and continued his career as a pilot after the end of the war.

  • Track your progress in the hangar by clicking Nickname → Achievements → Holidays → Polish Independence Day.
  • You can find the decal in the “Holidays” tab in the Customisation menu.
