Reduction of research points for aviation

In the last economy update, we laid out the planned reduction of the research costs for aircraft and now we are ready to tell you more about them and apply them within the next week.


Please note! We are not only reducing the cost of research for aircraft, but also on some ground vehicles in conjunction with slightly smoothing the increase in cost with advancing along the research tree where the research cost for some vehicles will slightly increase, this is compensated for with the reduction of the similar indicator of adjacent vehicles

Skill is important. But you win battles with capping points (Ground Forces) and stopping enemy team to do same. Focusing only on kills (or making it too valuable) will lead to camp battles.

We do not plan to make such action. This topic is on balancing the RP rewards, not significantly increase it to one side, like you suggest.

Many navy battles for example are not very populated. Same with air battles on different BRs.

And please, stop with that silly "you do not play your own game". Many of us and devs got thousands of hours in it (me, for example). This argument is just boring and adds nothing to discussion.

We have discussed it already internally

The issue with using % here is, that it will be confusing for almost all players. One time they will get the "bonus" in another battle, they don't.

The bigger one is, low populated battles would be avoided (which will cause more early leavers).

Something, that looks like a nice idea and nice bonus, starts to become a big problem.

As stated earlier, this topic is on balancing RP income, which means we need to take something from one side and add to another. Not increase everything like there is no tomorrow

Cmon, you know it's not like that. If you are good player and do all above, you get decent reward even on lost battles.

We do not have any plans to punish losing team. We want to give them a little more.

No one expect (at least I think no one expect) to win all the battles. War Thunder is team game. Even if some battles are full of lone wolfs, at the end of the day, better team wins.

I do not know what have you read, but I never said you have to stay in cap all the battle.

IMHO your mindset here is wrong. WT is not CoD, where you run around container (sorry, never played it much, if gameplay is different, treat this as voice of ignorance :P) shooting enemies every 4 seconds.

You just cut one part of the changes. We plan to increase reward for losing team. So rewards will be more balanced in overall.

You need take something from one side to give it to the other side. Not all of the playerbase are as good as you.

Changes based on collected feedback


Aircraft


The primary and important change, according to your feedback is the reduction of the cost of purchasing a rank VI aircraft as their prices are now about the same as rank VII aircraft which was introduced not so long ago.


Also, prices will be changed for some vehicles such as the MiG-17 (to match the neighboring Yak-30 and La-15).


You also noticed that after the division of the French second aircraft research tree into two, vehicles from the F-84 series were in both new trees and it makes sense to put them in one

Yup. Additional RP in this case is not stored anywhere.

Example:


Right now you gathered 219000/220000 RP for vehicle X. After the update it will require 250000 RP.

Update comes.

Now you got 219000/250000 RP.


That's why, if you do not have much more RP to "invest", it's better to grind towards the end before the change hit the server.

This is an economical update and not a BR one. Also regarding this topic, the 400+ replies are mostly by the same 10~ people having a continuous discussion round and round. The number of replies is not a good metric to judge something buy. Especially when its very clear by reading the last few pages that the topic is just being sustained by the same few users.
