In February 1945, 76 years ago, the T-44-100 appeared for the first time. The Soviets attempted to mount a 100 mm gun into the T-44. After tests, the 100 mm gun was deemed good enough. East Germany was given the MiG-15bis jet fighter in 1953. East Germany was expected to be the frontline of the Cold War by Soviet leadership and was thus armed with the latest aircraft.
