It’s APDS, the snail says that APDS has no post pen damage. On a flank, use the Mk.8 shell, but when you are sniping or fighting chunky tanks, use the APDS. The comet is a Panther’s worst nightmare, because the APDS goes clean through its front plate and mantlet.

Yeah that's what I do when I play the Comet.
