[2021] AJ 37 discussion thread - loadouts, specs, etc

Just to point out, the whole purpose of the AJ is an attacker. Not a fighter. The fact it can carry RB24J / AIM-9J at all is a defensive bonus. Its not supposed to be defined by its air-to-air capacity.

Any AJ Viggen is not supposed to compete with them. Its an attacker, not a fighter.

Comparing an attack aircraft with a bunch of fighters is not really the correct comparison to be making.

That does not really detract from the point that the AJ is supposed to be an attacker and the prior comparison to modern fighters is rather meaningless.

We would need some sort of solid confirmatory source on this. The devs wont change it without a source.

We currently don't have asymmetrical loadout combinations involving 1 missile / countermeasure pod on lots of aircraft that could hypothetically do so.

A Lancaster can face a Bf 109, but it doesn't mean the Lancaster should be compared on its ability to shoot down aircraft vs the 109. This is a completely meaningless comparison as the aircraft have different roles. The AJ 37 is an attacker. Not a fighter.

The AJS is also later than the AJ, which we have only just received. Sweden has very few top jets left at all and the AJ was the next logical step. There was never any chance we would jump right to the AJS. The AJ is perfectly adequate and if it somehow transpires that its not performing well at its current BR, thats exactly what the dynamic BR system is for.

Any fighter in game can "obliterate" any attacker or bomber in game. Thats nothing exclusive to the AJ 37 and again a rather meaningless comparison. Its an attack aircraft, designed to attack ground targets.

The Ja 37 is currently one of the best aircraft in the game. I think its fair to say at the top of the meta. The AJ is a ground attack platform and perfectly adequate compared to many other nations.

I do not think there is any constructive outcome to continuing this past here, as its very clear your personal opinion is already set and further discussion is not necessary and not adding anything to the topic.
