Not 'flashy' but Glen's been testing hot new texture file compression tech to make Warframe more compact/load faster/shrink patches:
Current Lightmaps: 11.2GB
New 'Oddle Texture RDO' Lightmaps: 6.6GB

PSA: Should've warned earlier (my bad) but we retired 2008 era 8 bit rendering this hotfix. Not a performance benefit big visual detriment. Autoexposure+HDR is only path now. If you used this and lowered brightness to compensate blowouts reset brightness. Sorry for surprise!
@TheReal72817187 :) one day, when I've had about 80 beers. But we are going to get RJ expansion this year and get more into those things. I'm ashamed those things didn't make it but had to be cut (for now).
@radjostein Yes color space - srgb 8 bits per color component (32 bit). The distinction is modern gpu can do HDR in 32 bits with "R11G11B10" floating point which renders full rate. So old path gave no real GPU benefit. Was pre-PS3 era stuff.
@littlenavi_ @ianhamilton_ Again, the research I linked shows its not a mistake. It _is_ a compromise. We won't redo scenes for CB compensation. For UI, as I said, full remapping table is longer task.
@_H3dsh0t @littlenavi_ @ianhamilton_ AH interesting - any game come to mind that did this sort of thing well I could check out? There are few other algorithms I can def try :)
