Why would you want your obviously statistically superior weapon to look like the boring regular version? I don’t understand… (no plans at the moment, but never say never) -Kaz

We don’t have any corrupted version of their tracks in the works at the moment, but you never know what the future may hold. -Erich

Who is the “voice actor” for Kalymos? In other words, does our favorite kitty have a real kitty voicing her, or are her noises digitally made?

Kalymos was created by combining many different, real recordings of cats! There is no singular “cat actor”, but rather many of them :)

Not at this time! We typically have a “never say never” vibe, but there really isn’t plans right now to expand on Umbra Mods or Frames. Sorry!

Q: When did you know you had a masterpiece?

I can’t help but praise you for the incredible story you’ve woven together. Warframe has genuinely changed me, making me reflect on what it means to be part of a community—a family, whether logical or biological.

I’ve only played one MMO before: the first Destiny when it entered beta on Xbox. I was... less than impressed. It lacked direction, and the story felt secondary. So when I got my Switch and browsed through free games, I stumbled across Warframe and thought, "Well, I might as well try", And oh boy, was I blown away.

The graphics on the Switch aren’t the best—understandable, given the hardware—but they weren’t terrible. What truly captivated me was the story. It took my hand, looked me in the eye, and begged me to hope again. And now, here I am, having played every quest, explored star chart, and taken the time to admire the beauty of the game’s environmental storytelling.

I love the mechanics and the ever-evolving nature of Warframe, but what I appreciate most is how you never compromise the story’s needs—no matter how strange, unorthodox, or deeply personal it becomes.

My childhood was rough—losing my mother, struggling to find my place in the world, and figuring out what it means to be me. This game really helped. I can’t express how much it meant to feel seen while playing The Chains of Harrow. As a young autistic person, it was a breath of fresh air to see someone like me in a story—not just present, but as a selfless hero. I don’t mind that Rell eventually crumbled under the weight of the Lidless Eye. Who wouldn’t, after holding back an eldritch, ancient god for so long—even after sacrificing their original body? It was just powerful to see that being different doesn’t mean being lesser, that we can do great things. I'm adult enough to admit I still cry when I remember how in the end it was the memory or the ghost of his mother that finally let him rest I only hope we can all be so lucky to fade into such loving embrace as Rell did.

I also deeply respect how, after The New War, you didn’t cave to demands to “fix” things like Fortuna. “War isn’t Hell. Hell exists for the guilty—war doesn’t care.” Real war leaves scars, both on people and places. I love your dedication to showing that. We can’t go back to how we were, we can only, "dream of what we were and have now become"

We are glad you feel so positive about our slice of gaming, one day we might see it that way but for now we still have work to do! - Rebb

First off, thank you so much for everything you do in this game and the community. I have several questions.

  1. Are there any more frame reworks planned in the near future? I was hoping for something about Chroma if possible.
  2. Can we please get a buff to drop rates for the ambassador rifle?
  3. Any more protoframes that you can share news about ( concept art )?
  4. Anymore Scaldra weapons coming to the game?
  5. Can we get a copy of Albrecht's coat for drifter? 6.Anymore story progression about Stalker?
  6. Any plans on adding new Archwing content(like missions)?
  7. Is infested Alad V considered a Retcon or did he just get cured with space medicine?
  8. Are there going to be Floofs of the new Protoframes?

Answering your fifth question.

Only if he ever takes it off to let us get the pattern - Rebb.

Hello, I’ve recently started playing Warframe? Since August of last year. I am absolutely loving the game. I am wondering if there are any plans or talk about expanding the Star Chart outside of the Origin System with new planets and enemies?

Where would you like us to go :) ? - Rebb

Where does the operator go when drifter is in the origin system?

Drifter and Operator share the same 'slot' of spacetime, and the Universe struggles to accommodate that. It seems that while one of them is active, the other is able to observe from a sort of 'void pocket' - they can make their thoughts and feelings known, but not much more than that. We have seen that they can only both be present at the same time in exceptional circumstances, such as on board the Zariman or at the edge of the Void in the Sanctum Anatomica. - Ade

As Warframe evolves, how do you balance accessibility for new players with depth and complexity for veterans?

We are thinking about this a lot lately. What we’ve been working on over the past few updates is early game quality of life changes that simplify the path forward for the new player. We still have lots of ideas and plans for the early game, so stay tuned. -Ryan

Would it possible for us to bring our 1999 partners with us on our journey forward somehow? I'm gonna cry if I have to leave Amir behind xD Maybe an air support like Khal or allowing specters to use Gemini Skins?

Also, please fix Amirs skirt armor, the rigging is all goofed up in cinematics & his Gemini skin.

And Gemini skin voice lines aren't sync'd in multiplayer. It was fixed when techrot first launched, but it desync'd again after one of the more recent hotfixs.

Thank you guys, love you all, & love the game so much <3

I think part of the fun of the Gemini skins is to have them with you wherever you go. And I don’t think I’ll ever switch my “base of operations” away from the Backroom, personally. I think even if the story progresses, our partners in 1999 will stay with us. As for their involvement in other ways? Who knows. I hope we get to see more of them, though I am biased. -Kat

Is there a possibility that we could see new weapon types added in future updates like the Grimoire in WITW?

The burden of having the ideas AND making the things is that making the things happens slower than having the ideas. We also have to make sure we choose the most fitting things for storytelling and gameplay so the list keeps getting longer... Uh, so yes! Eventually! - Kaz

The studio is buzzing! We’re still very busy fixing Techrot bugs but work has already begun on the next big adventure for Warframe. We’re very happy and thankful for the responses to 1999 and Techrot Encore, but I don’t think we’re ever truly satisfied. We’re HUNGRY for what’s next and for you to experience all our plans for Warframe :)

Maybe! There’s gotta be more Prime stuff hiding in those old towers or in some hole in the ground somewhere. -Kaz

Hello Rebecca and everyone!

Thanks for doing this AMA, I've been looking for an opportunity to tell you all how well I think you've been doing. I am a Founder ( MR L3), so I've been around for a while. I think that Warframe is in a better state today as a game than it has ever been. I really appreciate all the work you've done, not just in new content, but especially with reviewing and improving old systems, warframes, mods, and weapons.

1999 has been really great. I can see the effort you put in as far as tonality and story. I like the more lighthearted turn of this update, it's a good contrast to prior content, which I think we can agree can get a little -heavy- at times. I like those things too, so I don't think the success of 99 is a mandate to veer off totally into comedy, but it's at a nice balance point for me.

I also appreciate the clear effort that went into streamlining the grind, I really like the newer "Grind for drops, but also get currency to buy the thing you're missing" system. It feels very respectful of the player's time. The new arcanes and mods, in particular, feel pretty thoughtful as so many of them seem intent on shoring up less-used warframes and builds in really specific ways. I can look at these things and think "Well this thing is so specific, someone has an intent in mind with it, so what's that about?" Also a big fan of the Vosfor system!

Build diversity is in a really good place, that's all assisted by a much cleaner pipeline of getting new arcanes, shards, equipment, and endo ( I've noticed how someone seems to have quietly opened the spigot for endo drops.. ) Big thanks to whoever is in charge of rebalancing ( Pablo? ) As an example, because of the changes to Mirage Eclipse, the shard system, and the addition of Arcane Crepuscular, I've got a Steel Path Ivara build I'm really happy with. Not to mention how those systems buff older frames like Frost, Banshee, etc..

I mainly wanted to make an appreciation post, but since this is an AMA.. :)

With the new Coda weapons, there are a few weapon mods from Nightwave that are now of some interest. Of course, I'm aware that they are tradeable but, would there be any chance of getting past Nightwave mods put back into circulation? Maybe TennoCon Baro might carry them?

Secondary question, are there any plans to revisit past nerfs- in terms of Warframe abilities ( Decoy, Radial Blind come to mind ) or weapons, with a look at possibly reverting them or making another balance pass?

Thanks so much for all you do!

We have a list of past-Nightwave items to inject elsewhere when the time is right. I’ll take a look to see if there’s an appropriate spot :) -[DE]Megan

First of, damn this is cool as shit to see again, hope u get a question squeezed in:

1) what's the logic behind what weapons you guys decide get primed, lichified, or incarnoned? I understand they're generally "older" weapons, but is there anything else besides that criteria?

2) can we get a small Passover some older, less impactful arcanes? More particularly the exodia and theorem arcanes? They feel like they need so much set up for such a short and weak pay off.

3) any plans to expand on modular weapons? Or modular systems as a concept? I know I'd personally be extremely happy having more kit gun and saw parts to play around with.

4) tau when (this one is a joke)

Answering your first question.

Usually we Prime weapons that came out with the Warframe that’s getting Primed (the Warframe’s “signature weapons”), if it’s not that, it’s usually “what old Tenno weapon needs its day in the sun?” or something that would pair well with the gameplay for the update. I can’t fully answer for the others, that’s typically a Design decision, but we try and include a good mix of primary, secondary, and melee weapons that might benefit from a little lift. -Kaz

Are there any plans to rework Plains of Eidolon and Orb Vallis bounties?

Not any real plans, but if you described how you’d like them to be reworked it would at least open our mind to it. - Rebb

I have been playing Warframe sometime between the plains of eidolon and Fortuna and I’ve got to say it’s been great playing Warframe. It’s one of the few key games I play now since there’s always something to do.

My first question has to do regarding lore about the Orokin and their system and history. It has been known that Ballas was a high ranking Orokin but one thing hasn’t been clear was how was the Orokin structured? Was there an emperor, or king, or council? Who was at the very top as in the big boss overseeing the entire empire and what happened to them? Will we see them later? It’ll be cool to fight more Orokin get a full fledged Orokin boss fight.

My second question in regard to the drifter and the operators. From what I heard all of the multiverse was condensed into two universes. However, is there an In lore explanation of why there are multiple drifters or is it just a gameplay thing?

My third question is what happened to the drifters universe? I heard that it got absorbed into the void and is now completely destroyed but the man in the wall promised to save the other kids. What happened to those alternate operators if the drifters universe went kaboom? If not, what happened in that universe and will we visit it again? Does every Tenno have a drifter counterpart or is it just the one operator and drifter

My fourth question is in regard to the Orokin origins. Who were the first Orokin and if I’m assuming correctly, how did they rise up from the scaldra and O.R.O? Is victor the first Orokin?👀

My fifth question is about gameplay and it’s because of the last devstream about revisiting some old content. I have always wondered this for a while and it’s about the third orb boss. It might be a pipe dream but its looks so cool and unique and would love to fight it in the future.

My sixth and last question is about raids. I heard rumors that DE was testing five player servers to see if the game could handle more players to bring back raids. Is there a possibility for raids to return? I wasn’t here when raids began and ended and would love a chance to play them in massive squads. I wanted confirmation though about what the chances that is for happening.

That’s all I have for now. Thank you for making a great game with a very healthy economy. It’s the only game I’ve spent in game currency on other than TF2 and even then the money I spent on Warframe far outweighs it. I hope Warframe continues to grow in the future.

Here is to another 12 years and beyond. 👍

Answering your first question.

While the details of many aspects of Orokin society were destroyed when they fell, we do know the Orokin were led by The Seven, a council of Executors to which Ballas belonged. How much influence he had over the other six Executors on that council is an open question.

As for fighting the Orokin, we do have a couple Orokin boss fights in the game. -Ryan

In general, how much does player feedback + input factor into the games development? Are things like rework priorities / gameplay tweaks / QoL features usually taken from player feedback, or more commonly decided on internally? Interested in knowing how much influence the playerbase has on these things :D

We operate in a world of conflicting yet harmonious truths that make it impossible to quantify ‘how much’ influence is had. It’s like a perpetual motion machine where we are influenced by the players who are influenced by our next move who then … you see how it goes - Rebb

Why is there so little blood in Warframe?

We can bisect a humanoid and there's not a single blood decal to be found, but on a rare occasion you'll find a tiny spatter on a random wall. Is it possible to ramp up the blood decals or give us a toggle/slider to make things a bit more juicy after a kill?

Believe it or not, this is a hot topic this year because of how awesome Soulframe pushed their gore / splatter, so, you’ll know what’s up later this year ;) -Rebb

Dear sibling Kaz, how much of yourself have you put into Flare Varleon and Temple? It is 100% not a self insert, but it does seem like it's a lot of you in them.

Temple/Flare started as a passion project for me, so it’s definitely the case of putting a bunch of my favorite things together to see if I could get away with a cool design. The end product though is the result of a group effort, so Temple/Flare/Lizzie have evolved from my original vision into something much bigger than I could have imagined, actually it’s been such a memorable experience watching how everyone else put their own unique touches on everything.

It’s always a bit of a risk to put forward something that feels so personal, for others to work on and mold into something you don’t have full control of. But when you’re in a place where there’s so much passion and respect and raw talent, you learn about how important it is to take the chance and let go a little to have a chance to watch a new vision blossom.

And now I get to see how everyone else interprets that vision in their own way with fashionframe and fanart :)) -Kaz
