As we look towards the August 25th simultaneous platform release date, there is a real possibility that the Cert turnaround time and our work from home setups may shift that for Nintendo Switch. When developing alongside PC, we have to factor in the Cert timeline. Meaning, we need everything from PC to the console build for Cert days in advance. So we took the time necessary to do so, factoring in that certain content/code is required to go through Cert before launch. And while we’ve been working on the update from home, it seemed to have presented some issues specifically with Cert uploading before we were able to send successfully.
All that to say that we are still hopeful and excited for a release on August 25th! It’s not every update that we release simultaneously on all platforms, and while the process to making that date a reality has presented some issues along the way, we maintain our eagerness to get this to you as soon as we can. We will keep you informed as we progress through the Cert process and in either case, once we have passed Cert we will share the news.
Heart of Deimos is a Mainline Update! With all new content for the new Infested landscape and everything that creeps and crawls within it. With mainline updates, as we’ve seen in the past, there is the likely chance that bugs slip through the cracks. We will be actively monitoring once live to remedy any issues that crop up and if they can be hotfixed. Keep in mind that there are certain types of fixes that touch on code that must pass the Cert checklist before we release them on Nintendo Switch - we will keep you informed if we come across bugs where that will be the case.The total download size for this update is ~ 3.55 GB. This will bring Warframe’s total size to ~ 25.3 GB on Nintendo Switch. For the Tenno out there who have not equipped their Nintendo Switch with an SD card and have no other games downloaded, this update will bring Warframe over the base memory allowance. This means that having additional space installed on your Nintendo Switch is necessary to accept Heart of Deimos: Update 29. You will need to have at least ~ 3.55 GB available on your device in order to begin the download. We know this is not ideal, and we were exploring remastering options but ran into technical issues that require much more consideration and time. As we continue to develop on the platform, reducing the overall size of Warframe to below the base memory allowance is challenging. We thank you for your understanding while we explore options to address for future updates.
