At one point the devs were too scared to post or say anything on the forums. Just stayed in their discord. Thankfully they're much more often posting on these forums then once a month at best. There are some other games out there with excellent devs who stick by the forums on steam, and make sure community service is at a epic level.

This game has come a long way since early access. I'm even at the point I wouldn't mind getting the game myself. Plus it has steve blum who's my #1 favorite voice actor.

It wasn't an issue with being scared, it was an issue with what forums we communicated directly with players due to bandwidth as well as direction of the previous publisher.
