Signal Fire bugged in Coop?

Heya, just started this game in coop with a friend. We are having an issue with the signal fires.
Only the Host can activate the signal fires, the other person not only cannot fast travel with them, they can also play the unlock animation over and over for infinite exp.
Is there any fix to this ? Not really making sense to play coop when you have to play alone everytime you want to unlock a fast travel point.
