I took a break from this game about a month ago because I was frustrated with the glacial pace of leveling. Logged in today to check out the update and was able to level my Kyros twice in about an hour. This feels much more rewarding and respectful of my time, and since it was my biggest gripe I think I'll be coming back for a while now.

This should have been the case since launch, but early access and all that. Glad they listed and tuned this appropriately, they seem to really be listening to the community which is essential in a game like this. To anyone who left because leveling was too slow, I would say give it another try because this is a solid update.

The issue is that we didn’t have the correct tools in place to be able to adjust the XP on a whim.

If we corrected too much that would be bad long term, if we corrected not enough and we said to everyone “c’mon back and try it again!” we’d be criticized again (and rightfully so). We took the extra time that we needed to 1. Make sure we have a better baseline in place for a lot of activities now that we had real player data and 2. Created back end tools so we can adjust these on the fly going forward as well as have double reward tower or Character XP weekends.
