There was an issue with our last patch that could reduce FPS and potentially crash. We've patched once already to reduce it and have another coming out today or tomorrow that fixes the issue further. Thanks for your patience.

Originally posted by _HXL_shaz: i run it with protonGE 9.7 and it didn't crash once in 20 hours on deck. fps is constant over 30 even in highlands, in the dungeon pretty much 50-60 but i cap the fps anyway for battery savings. the menu can get a little laggy in the 20s but overall i think it's okay. i'm happy if they get it optimised for sure. settings are 800p, no fsr, 100% renderscale, high textures and shadows, everything else low. you should try it out, it's a lot of fun!
What else are you doing? I just tried the game again and lo and behold, it crashed in the Highlands when I opened the pause menu, not to mention the occasional hang mid-combat. And tbh, right out of the gate the game struggled to keep 40 FPS for me in the opening dungeon. It's not like the Steam Deck has a wealth of different hardware configurations per device, so are you doing anything else to boost performance and stability?

Here's hoping you guys manage to fix performance as well 🤞🏻 It can definitely be better.
This patch is now live.
