Greetings everyone. I'm taking my family to Universal for the first time in March (2 adults and 1 5 year old). The plan is to get 1 day, 2 park pass for Universal studios and islands of adventure. We'll get the express pass as well seeing we want to make the most of our 1 day there.

Anyway my question is, is it worth staying at one of the park hotels if we're only going to the park 1 day? If we do, it'll be either the surf side or dock side hotels (coming from Canada so gotta focus on value).

What are the best kid friendly hotels in the area?

You can routinely find Adventura, Dockside or Surfside for under $150. Also the Cabana Bay family suites are $150-200 and great size w/ a mini fridge and sink. As others have said it might make sense to look into the premiere hotels for their express pass being included. Royal Pacific is my favorite due to the food, the location and the pool that your 5 year old will love.

I hear cabana bay is awesome but it's over $400/night CAD! I'll be booking on points so I'll still consider it . Thanks

woah that must be a busy weekend! For that cost you'd be better off just paying for the higher tier premium hotels for the express pass!
