Everyone followed in the second game - I think people didn't notice the update.
Yeah, that's probably going to happen to a lot of people.
I think that's the tradeoff we decided to make - wait for a big patch and do a lot of work pointing towards it or ship it earlier and accept that for a few games people don't pick up on it.
The upside in terms of quality of the system made that a no-brainer.
Is there going to be any kind of punishment system in place for people who just never adjust to role pick? First or second offenses as people adjust obviously not included but for those people who just never care about roles or team comp I feel need to have some sort of system in place. At the very least need some kind of ban to keep them out of ranked if they show they have no regard for the role system
We're definitely keeping an eye on it for now. Our starting point will be to understand how frequently this happens and why. After that I think we can start looking at potential strategies to mitigate this, one of which could be punitive.
What about normal draft mode :(. Some like to play normals without having the need to face double adc or junglers.
I don't think we want to commit to anything like that yet. The big issue with opening an additional normal queue is that we segment the player base, which has some impact on matchmaking health, which we currently prioritize higher.

It's true! I'm very thankful to the hard work this team did on role queue. Though, would we seeing ban phase introduced once we have enough champs?
Also, I gotta say the queue times seems to have gotten shorter since the addition of role queue. Is there some magic you guys pulled to make this happen?
Yes! Bans are on the way and like you've pointed out, it's tightly coupled to number of champs.
