This is, IMO, wilds rifts biggest issue and was not addressed at all.

The solution (On Paper) is easy.

If a game starts with an AFK user, who doesn't move for the first 3 mins allow a remake (End the game early) option with no loss of rank.

  1. It doesn't force players to play a game down a player if they don't want to.
  2. If the remaining team members vote to remake (AKA End the game early), there is no penalty to the players that were forced play the game with.

Why is this not being added to the game? It's so simple, and almost ever MOBA does this.

/remake is near and dear to my heart (I was on the team that brought this to League PC). It's something we are looking at, but won't make it into the game for a while. Definitely not the next major patch. The complexity here is not actually the in-game systems (which to be clear is not that simple, we still have to make sure it is not abusable). Our technical blocker is all the things that happen at the end of a game that we need to modify when a remake happens. Think ranked stars, fortitude, missions progress, wild pass progress, team boosts, etc. etc. etc. We have to make sure that that things are unwound correctly and that only the appropriate players are penalized for their AFK and assessed a loss and everything that entails.

I wish it could be sooner, but we also have stuff behind the scenes to address AFK which should appear before remakes. Can't talk details yet though. Luckily a lot of our penalty systems are disconnected from our patch cycle so we have opportunities to make updates to them without always waiting for a patch.
