I didn't had a chance to talk about anime with someone from NA (and I know it's more popular in US than in RU) so I would like to know which anime you guys prefer.
We can start with top-3 list and here is mine:
1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2. Code Geass
3. Clannad
Well, what I can say... To each his own.
I watched almost everything from that list haha
Mirai Nikki is a very good one especially with alternative ending. Have you seen Gurren Lagann?
I don't like mecha myself but this one is very noice!
I even wrote an article with a preview when it was still an ongoin :D Pity that they probably won't make a 2nd season....
Nichijou and One Punch Man are both very funny and I strongly recommend you to fill that void in your anime list

Nooooope but I'll give it a try.
That was the only reason for me to buy Netflix subscription when I lived in Asia. Unfortunately, in Russia Netflix is pretty empty and has no anime at all which is really sad.
Ofc we do have it ahaha. But regarding anime, the main issue is that 99% of it is not licensed in Russia so even if you really want to you can't watch it legally. Only some reeeeallly popular series are licensed in RU but they all have a sh*tty voice acting and no option to watch with original sound & subs...
I actually tried to watch anime with Eng voice but it's not the same as the original one, I like Japanese moar.
I used to live in Thailand where ~+86F is the usual temperature during any season so I guess I will fit just fine in Texas :D
Princess Principal was such an underrated anime IMO! I loveeeed the steampunk aesthetics of it.
I always felt that Princess Principal was a prime example of don't judge an anime by its title.
Also Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress was amazing too.
It's hard for me to pick my top. I tend to like edgy non-popular ones. (don't judge me)

When people say that anime is "for kids"
Honestly asides from growing up and renting every Sailor Moon VHS from the video store, Elfin Lied is what got me into watching anime as an adult and was the very first anime I purchased on DVD.
This might be why I have a dark preference for anime now.
I'll have to check it out! I typically wait for the whole series to come out because I'm a typical millennial that hates waiting weeks for new episodes to come out. I feel this even more with anime because in a 20-minute episode, if you take the OP and ED out of it, you're looking at like 10-15 min per episode.
I don't count Sailor Moon and Pokemon since it was very common in RU and they were on air on a regular TV in the 90s. So considering it, my very first 3 anime I watched were: 1. Hellsing 2. Fullmetal Alchemist 3. Elfen Lied
You should read the manga. After it was given away to another studio it became really awful, the drawing is just soooooo bad comparing to the previous one. I couldn't really watch it so I started to read instead.
Oh my gosh. I'm watching Index universe for the 2nd time atm. Since I saw 3rd season release and after I saw 2 episodes I realized that I forgot almost everything haha

In RU we don't have it :) Plus because of the economic situation in RU 30$ is pretty much for a book. That's a cost for any AAA game with regional price in RU which usually cost 60$ in US or 60€ in EU.
I used to read it online, but now I don't really have time for it and when I do I prefer to go out with friends instead of sitting home.
But no one cares about RU sites

Nope... For the last 3 weeks, I watched only 3 or 4 series of various titles in total.
