I'd actually recommend the Ranger as a starting CV. The US CV setup is generally applicable to a wide range of ship types, and the health/movement of the planes is conducive to newer players.

German CVs are actually an advanced line. They require precision to get Citadels and stay relevant in the match, which is something newer players will have a tough time with.

Some people come to grasp CV very quickly/naturally. The issue with German CV is more about like... citadel position memorization. After that, it comes down to striking on a really good line in order to get the citadels. Or, in some cases, intentionally coming in at a slight angle to make sure the rockets bite instead of overpen.

It's not that it's super crazy, but it's just not something I recommend as a starting point. Players are always going to want a "Do X and see results" style of play, which the US/IJN/RU lines are the most consistent about.

If the OP is learned in CVs and Striking, German CVs can be very powerful indeed~

I actually trained on how to use CVs by playing Co-Op for... I'm not really sure how many hours each day. I made a point of trying to land every bomb/torpedo/rocket every time.

Yes, a player will maneuver or juke in ways a bot never will, but learning how to lead and attack correctly gives you a great foundation for extrapolating how to deal with those that do sail in tricky ways. It's like learning how to swing a bat is important before you worry about trying figure out curveball and sliders and all the other high-level stuff that a batter can face.
