What you are describing is a pretty significant time investment for a single individual.

If you are specifically referring to bots, this is monitored and players caught doing this will be excluded from rewards.

We are unable to accommodate previous recruiting as this is a new program. We do however recognize that some of you did recruiting with the new system launched on June 4th so any eligible recruit from that time forward will make you eligible for these new rewards.

There are rewards available for bringing inactive players back as well, so no this is not a program for new players. This program is also a Marketing effort and operates independently of development work happening in the game right now so our plan is to try and make existing players happy, bring back a few former players, and maybe get a few new ones.

Hello,

1. Obviously the details of this cooperation are not to be disclosed, but this is more of mutual project, which gives us an additional flow of new players, while providing our veterans with some cool stuff, and we're happy that Amazon is on board and helping us to make this happen. We also have similar cooperation with PayPal on EU and with Yandex on CIS.

2. It is not the question of choice. I think it should be explained in more detail.

Our main value is our audience. The audience leaves with time, as it happens in absolutely any game, and the audience flows in as new players and returning players. We're very happy that our game has very good core playerbase, a lot of most active players are with us since Beta. Obviously for the game to thrive and evolve for years, there should also be inflow of fresh blood. Thus, if we look from this perspective, we should:

1. Work on retaining current players (so they stay in the game and enjoy it);

2. Work on recruiting new players;

3. Work on returning old players (give them good reason to get back into the game);

Retaining current players is basically:

1. Resolving the issues that prevent them from enjoying the game;

2. Introducing new features and content to give them reason to enjoy the game and keep playing it.

E.g.

Our overall dev roadmap is basically a major patch each month, which supplies players with a lot of various events and content, and we also try to squeeze QoL improvements here and there.

Our game design team and the teams that service it work on CV improvements, redoing priority sector, making AA more consistent, etc.

Our tech guys are fixing some bugs, digging into the port systems to make it work smoother, or exploring the opportunities to improve visuals, etc, etc.

But our business development team cannot do any of the above. We cannot ask the small team of negotiators and project managers to make new priority sector quicker, we cannot ask them to fix bugs or design Italian tech tree. 9 mothers cannot give birth to one child each month, it simply does not work like that. But then, these guys give us different, and yet important results - deals and collaborations. Dunkirk, Ovechkin, Arpeggio, HSF, Twitch Prime and now events like Amazon - this is what they do. And they will keep doing this, looking for new opportunities and collabs around the globe. A lot of players enjoy these, and while some of our experiments certainly are rather specific and not for everyone, generally they bring good value for the game, which makes current players happier.

TLDR: making current players happy is extremely important, but it does not cancel the activities aimed at player acquisition and winback, as they are a part of the process, too.

Please kindly see above.

CV rework did not cause the loss of playerbase. I am sorry, but this is a myth. It is very important to understand that it DOES NOT mean that CV rework is perfect, and this fact does not counter any issues that current CV have. But for the sake of objectivity, it's better not to spread false information about "loss of playerbase" and try to connect the points that in fact are not connected. Apart from very slight spike in uninstalls (like a few % from normal flow) in 0.8.0 and slight drop of play activity after New Year (which happens every year and then bounces back, as NY gives crazy amounts of various stuff) nothing happened. We don't need misinformation to justify the changes to CV - we're doing them anyways, because there are objective reasons to, and we acknowledge our mistakes. AA is getting a lot of love, and then renewed priority sector will follow. When the cumulative effect of these changes is applied, maybe spotting will be tweaked as well. We've already done a lot, and will keep working on the existing issues, until they are resolved.

See you soon, guys!

Rewards are retroactive to the start of the Recruiting Station on the 4th of June

So yes, you will receive rewards for your recruits if they complete the requirements of:

Newcomers (Never Played the Game) — Fight at least one non-Training battle in a non-Premium Tier VI ship.

Veteran (Hasn't Played the Game in 90+ days) — Win 25 or more non-Training battles in Tier IV or higher ships.

When the event is finished, you will be emailed links to your registered account email (the one you log in with) where you will then follow through to claim from amazon. You do not need to link you amazon account anywhere.

Over the duration of the games lifespan thus far, there has been many opportunities for players to obtain free premium ships among other goodies through various events and initiatives, many of which cannot be obtained nowadays (Kamikaze for one - originally available in the Pearl event and then Fire v Water). Furthermore, for each account "birthday" you have in game you are given goodies to celebrate your milestones. Under the previous systems for the recruiting veteran players really didn't receive prolonged or substantial "thanks" for bringing their friends into the game. This new system addresses it, and is enhanced by Amazon Rewards for the rumble period. This system doesn't mean that we won't be looking at additional systems for experienced players, however that is a completely different matter.

We did do many checks to ensure that the system is working as intended. One thing I would ensure is that your friend has not played their account for over 90 days (this includes logging in) and followed the prompts correctly, if they correctly were recruited as a shipmate they should've seen:

and you should've seen a similar interface on returning to your recruiting station tab, where they should be listed as a shipmate. If they are not listed as your shipmate then something went wrong during the recruiting stage

Please consider that Sub_Octavian is from the RU staff, and primary plays on the RU server, his stats for his main account can be found: https://ru.wows-numbers.com/player/3787415,Sub_Octavian/ Sub is extremely knowledgeable on the game and it's development and genuinely cares for the community at large.

While we appreciate your provided data, we do have access within our own servers. This is a natural trend that has occured within the game for the last 3 years where as summer approaches the player base dips before picking up again later in the year. We are not concerned about our player numbers or activity levels of our player base.

Clarification on my last sentence (phrase was poor on my part)

Fem,

Thats... fair. Probably not the best wording on my part by using that term in this context :)

We are not concerned about our player numbers or current activity levels within our player base.

almost 5 years ago - Femennenly - Direct link

Apologies, it may not be clear as per what I am trying to convey.

On an annual flow, there are peaks and dips in terms of game activity from our playerbase, as reflected in the number of games played in the period. This is common across all games.

Across the holiday season of December/January, it is normal to see peaks in player numbers and battles played as people generally have more time free for the holiday. As the year begins, and children return to school and adults to work, player numbers and number of battles have a tendency to decline since they do not have time to play the game as much. Toward the end of Summer, we see player and battle numbers begin to increase to again peak in the winter. While I cannot provide you the exact data points, this is the trend we have seen in the last 3 years of the games operation (think bell curve). While on face value, yes average game numbers and player base numbers appear to be reduced since January time this year, this is what forecasted and within the levels we expected to see - thus why we are not concerned in relation to this recruiting campaign.

Now, while we may not be concerned about game activity / playerbase activity, we are and always will be concerned about player sentiment and concerns. This is a completely separate matter. I'll concede my phrasing was poor however disregard to that area was not intended. Your community staff are consistently reading and accessing feedback from a variety of places (forums, reddit, social media, community groups to name a few) to document player concerns for addressing.

We care what you guys have to say about the state of the game.

Head to the article listed in the first post of this thread and you should be able to click the "get recruiting" button to get started!

Nothing to be sorry about, it is your opinion we respect. You will not even be detonated more often in the game because of it, I promise

Let me just say that most of our budget goes to the playerbase in form of rewards in this case, and close the topic. I have no right to go into details, as there is 3rd party involved here.

As for recruitment, if only it was so easy. Unfortunately throwing money at at the screen (or in this case at HR) does not magically give you all professionals you need. We have open positions all the time, but it is hard to fill many of them (or to train a specialist internally). Even for my team, and we are not doing rocket science, I had to look for 3-4 months to fill a slot, and on most occasions so far I ended up with using recommendation from someone I know. Even though we're one of the very best places in the industry in our region.

And even if we had to make a choice for some reason, Amazon event budget would have less priority than actual game development, obviously.
