Please understand that not all ships are designed to an average skill level "style of play". In short, there are ships that are more demanding of player skill so that players which crave that experience can have a ship that appeals to them. There is not a requirement to make all ships fit all styles of player.

Dido is a ship that thrives on Maneuverability between her uses of smoke. This will absolutely cater to high skill players as her handling is delicious in capable hands. As for damage issues, the fact that she received a reduction to her damage should indicate that players who learn her can be expected to survive for quite some time and deal damage over the course of that time.
