Because maps are large and our battles are compressed into a 20 minute or less window of time. We have historic references and themes, but we do try to keep things moving at a steady pace with a compressed format.

Submarines need to ability to redeploy to other areas as flanks fall and shift to allow the player to continue to interact with the game experience.

None that I'm aware of.

Damage Con is mainly used to reduce damage.

Putting out Fires or Floods reduces damage.

Repairing Rubber or Engine Breaks can help to move and reduce damage.

Clearing a Ping should ideally only be used when it'll reduce damage.

There are players which feel clearing a ping should be done immediately, which is not correct. Much like saving DCP for when you have 2 or more Fires active (to make good use of it), you should look to save your DCP until the incoming torps are spotting. Make the decision at that point to see if clearing a ping matters or not. If yes, then use it. If not, than don't use it.

Being Pinged is similar to having "Priority Target" show someone is aiming at you. People will aim at you all game long and DCP cannot change that.

I'm fairly sure there is no more "Torp-Citadel". That function was removed from Homing Torpedoes months ago. Dumbfire Torpedoes have no ping interaction at all (except maybe the ability to rise upward if fired from under the water?)

Being scared of a flood is the same as being scared of a fire. They both do the same damage and last the same duration. The one difference is that floods are much more rare and do reduce engine power by something like 30% during the duration of the flood.

Our game is about decision-making and your timing/use of DCP is part of that decision process. DCP use is primarily done to reduce damage and how you use it will dictate how much damage it prevents you from taking in a given match.

It helps to learn about the "attack logic" of the homing mechanic. Homing torps can be juked, especially in larger ships like Battleships.

I made a video months ago to describe the process. Let me know if it's helpful.
