I answer questions or contribute information where I can. Most of the threads that are either venting or describing gameplay issues aren't created for conversation with CMs, though.

For our part, we read and understand the issues so that we can relay the problem. Where additional information is needed, I'll engage directly to suss out additional information or context. Would you like me to find you some threads where I've done that as examples?

This thread was put in our Weekly Report which is sent out to regional heads each week. It was listed with 3 other threads and given the header "Frustration and feedback reception"

The three other threads linked were:

Just to contribute something from my personal story here.

I started playing this game because the CV Rework was interesting to me. I played in Co-Op every day for 2-3 weeks just trying to learn how to kill the bots fast enough to avoid losing (since bots in the New Player queue shot better than the players and slaughtered them back then). I moved to Randoms for more economical usage of Signals/Camos, not to have some powertrip or whatever.

I normally play a game to high capability and then move on. What actively kept me here was the community's negative actions toward CV players because I was concerned for how players were ripping into other players as though they weren't people. To me, that was awful and I tried to teach CV concepts, mechanics, and tactics to help ease this problem. It didn't solve it, but I literally became very involved in this community because I was really concerned about how badly players were treating other players.

The issues still exist today, though it feels/seems like it's less aggressive than it was. Part of my interest in becoming a CM was to try and work behind the scenes to see if I could relieve these pressure points so folks don't rip into each other all the time. It's slow work, but I'm consistent in reminding internally about issues that create this kind of problem.

Sadly, I don't think I'm quite the personality type to reshape a community into a positive experience, so my CM capabilities are lacking on that front. My belief was that getting out good information would at least reduce pressure points and the shadowy evil fears that can drive people to go to extremes.
