Her AA is fantastic. The build I run is:


I do drop Survivability Expert to get points for +20% Continuous/Flak Damage, but I'm primarily a Support-style player. Boggzy keeps SE because her health pool is small, and it makes the heals a bit more powerful.

The thing that stands out is her Defensive Fire consumable giving +100% Continuous. Just to illustrate what 6 Points (and a Signal) does for San Diego's AA

Non-Spec, no Signal

Base AA: 100%


Def AA: 1 x 2 = 200%


Priority Sector: 2 x 1.5 = 300% Output



Spec, w/ Signal

Base AA: 100% Output


Def AA: 1 x 2 = 200%


Priority Sector = 2 x 1.75 = 350%


+20% = 3.5 x 1.2 = 420%


+5% = 4.2 x 1.05 = 441% Output

Spec is 141% increase in Continuous for 6 points and a Combat Signal. If she's low on health but her has mounts intact, Adrenaline Rush provides additional Continuous too (441 x 1.2 = 529.2% Output).

At (non-Adrenaline Rush) full power, these rise to:

2km Short Range: 435 dps


3.5km Mid Range: 361 dps

2km Full AA Total: 1,463 dps

For comparison, Halland has these values and DDs can only increase to a (non-Adrenaline Rush) max output of 269%.

At (non-Adrenaline Rush) full power, these rise to:

4km Short Range: 933 dps


6km Mid Range: 387 dps



4km Full AA Total: 1,320 dps

You were right! I had Statue of Liberty with the +20% AA skill. Removed her and redid the calculations (should have just been [Wrong Numbers / 1.2])

I'm not sure how to double-check this. I'm thinking you're doing some additional calculations with reference to damage-ticks?

In terms of output:

San Diego DFAA + Basic Priority Sector

1 x 2 x 1.5 = x3 (aka 300% output)



San Diego DFAA + Spec'd Priority Sector + +20% Commander + 5% Signal

1 x 2 x 1.75 x 1.2 x 1.05 = x4.41 (aka 441% output)

3,461 damage per second on the Full Spec'd looks super high. Maybe Priority Sector got counted twice?

These look super huge as well?

Fully Spec'd Balti's Output would use this multiplier:

Normal DFAA + Spec'd Priority Sector + +20% Commander + 5% Signal

1 x 1.5 x 1.75 x 1.2 x 1.05 = x3.3 (aka 330% output)

At (non-Adrenaline Rush) full power, these rise to:

2km Short Range: 471 dps

(168 x .85 x 3.3)


3.5km Mid Range: 968 dps

(326 x .9 x 3.3)


5.8km Long Range: 324 dps

(109 x .9 x 3.3)

Regarding AA -
We did a "joke" test to see how much damage a Sandy could put out against an FDR - which can happen, but is somewhat of a stacked match.
If you spec Sandy for AA, which you can absolutely do and still be a very competent surface combatant, you are arguably one of the single most dangerous cruiser AA platforms at tier 8. Cheshire and P.bag are up there too. I'm not going to have a long back and forth about people's feelings on AA in general, but the enhanced DFAA consumable stacked with skills and signals means the Sandy can pump out about 1500 damage per second in best circumstances with 7 flak native flak puffs. I take both AA skills at the cost of Survivability expert, but I generally feel skilled enough that I can make do without it.

Continuous damage:

Long Range (5.8km): 168 x (2.0 x 1.05 x 1.20 x 1.75) x 0.9 = 666.8 dps
Medium Range (3.5km): 91 x (2.0 x 1.05 x 1.20 x 1.75) x 0.9 = 351.2 dps
Short Range (2.0km): 116 x (2.0 x 1.05 x 1.20 x 1.75) x 0.9 = 460.4 dps

Total at Short Range: 1487.4 dps when maxed out with DFAA and Priority sector.

I take the Slot 2 DFAA module as well to have 20% extra time on DFAA and -10% to the cooldown. You're getting 8 flak puffs if you bring Focus Fire Training, which is starting to get to the point where even highly skilled players can take a puff or two at times on top of the DPS.

I'm glad the folks here in this thread are happy with Sandy! It was both a joy and a nightmare to test and get right, but what we've ended up with is A-OK in my book
