This is always going to be the case though – this topic would still exist without Yuzral, because someone would be happy about the fact that they got “1st pull” or annoyed that they got “41st pull” and this in turn would draw in others. This is what communities do.
He is just trying to harness and focus that into a semi-meaningful direction. We did the same thing when we saw people streaming our game in open beta – we created the CC program to support them, because they would have been doing that anyway.
In any case, he has no reason to be a shill for us, because we currently do not have any relations with him.
It’s worth pointing out that you are part of this community. Even then it does not “deserve the worst”, though I fully agree that everyone should absolutely decide for themselves in the end, regardless of whether the forums say it's good or bad.
Indeed. @Mason1984's post is relatively clear. Most of what I told you in our private discussion applies to it as well, so I’ll repost some of it.
We are going to address some or all of the issues that are being mentioned in the community, but we need to do it at our own pace. This is not because we don’t want to answer them quicker, but because there is a science behind making a successful product and that science will be applied before we will make any commitments, especially ones regarding items that are complex or business critical.
We will take the feedback about the problems being described and find solutions that fit both our goals and improve the sentiment in the community, but they might not be the same solutions as you are proposing. We will also keep things specific and won’t discuss generalized concepts like “you are too greedy”, because they are perceptions and not actionable within the scope of this discussion.
Lastly, I appreciate the callout to keep things civilized. As I have also stated on stream, for us this is a business and so the decisions we make are not personal nor emotional. While I do understand that for many of you it IS emotional, attacking staff or the rest of the community will not achieve anything meaningful and does not contribute to solving anything.
When we are ready to start addressing some of these mentioned pain points, we’ll post about it on our official resources. We’ll also reach out to the members of our CC Program and discuss some items with them. Since that is one of the major complaints, it stands to reason it would be part of the solution.
As we’ve said countless times: some things are easy to do quickly, some things unfortunately take time. We're working on it.
Best,
