Now that the PSA is over, today we will talk about new, upcoming ships, testing an unusual Ranked Sprints format, and lastly, we will unveil the mysterious New Year celebrations that await you.

New ships in test

British cruiser Cheshire, tier VIII

Is a variant of HMS Bedford. Armed with three turrets with two guns with a caliber of 234 mm.

Soviet battleship Borodino, tier VIII

Post-war project of small battleship for the Baltic sea. Armed with two turrets with three 406 mm guns from the battleship Sovetsky Soyuz.

Ranked Sprint

We are currently testing a new battle format - "1 vs 1" on tier VIII ships. Full details of the Ranked Sprint will be announced later on the official portal.

New Year celebrations, the Shipyard and ship construction

In the New Year update you can look forward to a completely new in-game event - full-scale ship construction. But what ship? Stay tuned for more details!

Players will have to go through all stages of construction - from laying the keel to the installation of weapons and deck equipment. Important stages of construction can be tracked directly in the game client.

Building a ship is a long and time-consuming process, so each of the stages will be accompanied with a nice set of rewards.

Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary and subject to change. Described mechanics and other elements may differ from the final version.

It's just our testing showed that Italian cruisers hit the right spot in balance almost immediately, so we didn't have to do 3-4 iterations of testing with them, like with other lines. Sometimes this happens.

We had her in plans for a long time, and she seems like an interesting concept.

Probably. Richelieu and Georgia work, and Richelieu has smaller guns, which allows some cruiser to bow-on her, while Georgia is even a tier higher. They both have stronger armor compared to Borodino, though.

We very much doubt that we'll be putting any more T2 pre-dreadnoughts in the game in the foreseeable future, but in case we need that, we can just call her "Borodino 1905".

Up to your taste.

You can turn off chat, but if you really have frequent internet problems - we, sadly, can't to anything, and I personally respect your decision to not let your team down due to them.

First I'd like to tell that this plan isn't 100% going to be realized, we're testing it right now.
Second, it really depends on map rules. For example, when we were testing Clan Blitz - a lot of people thought that carriers will be sure win, but it turned out that carriers just can't kill their target fast enough, and they were losing by points most of the time.

And about Akizuki - well, similarly I can tell that no Mass would like to battle Kagerou on an open map, and kagerou wouldn't like to be matched with Akizuki. So, generally, all-rounders will be a much safer bet.
And it will, of course, depend on the maps and map rules used - their size, number of islands, caps, speed of point gain, etc.
