I do have to question this narrative. We are a very data focused company that observes in-game play data as well as a variety of surveys we send out.

Why would you assume that a business which is extremely focused on data would not have enough data to support a decision to do something? Especially when the product is played world-wide and has been successful for now over 7 years. The track record would argue decision-making that is not impulsive or random.

There are players that dislike Subs. There are also players that like Subs. There are indifferent players as well that enjoy some things about our game and dislike others. We have survey data and observational data on all of this and have made a decision that we feel strongly about. While hindsight is 20/20 and mistakes can certainly happen, the concern that this hasn't been analyzed forward and backward really should be put to rest.
