Yes, so if you sit and just fire at someone enough, the damage stops being ignored and get redirected to your hull.

Actually turning pink is something that would require an active amount of team-damage'ing that you'd have to go out of your way to actually achieve.

While some folks do bring things like this up, players not griefing other players is still a very big positive. Sacrificing a bit of realism for a healthier game environment is a trade that has to happen sometimes.

I've heard this said repeatedly, but I've never heard why anyone would actually have come up with this idea.

Can you tell me why anyone would think this?

I can understand this line of logic. Friendly DD goes into harm's way when the coast is "clear" to try and Depth Charge a sub. Random player shoots at the sub, but hits friendly DD.

I can understand the logic, but this is similar to expecting a friendly ship to fire at an enemy that is being yolo-torp'd by a friendly DD and hitting the friendly DD instead. Like... it's possible, but it's just nothing something to expect once folks have figured out the situation.

If Depth Charging friendly subs that are in the area of enemy subs was an issue, you could just disable friendly Depth Charge damage instead of "All Friendly Damage". The removal of "All Friendly Damage" makes it much more likely to be a larger-scope response.

I think this is a more applicable issue. Removing the ability to grief other players means a more normal battle regardless of whether a player dislikes X or Y ship, and it cuts down on Support Tickets/Drama in general.

Even still, as people could grief/hurt any teammate in any class they didn't like, I don't think it's strictly a Sub thing.

Because being shot by a teammate for over a minute or so is obnoxious? It's not behavior to encourage. You shoot the enemy, not your friends.

As an admin, I think our words override the censor, so definitely something to be vigilant about.
