10 years ago today my son and I were following the Rust key auctions hoping the price would drop to the point where I could justify buying the game but it never fell low enough before they were all bought up. Doing a search for similar games led me to this one and we started following it. We liked Minecraft and in a lot of ways this game seemed like a merging of Rust and Minecraft (at least on paper).

I decided to take the leap of faith and bought the game during the winter steam sale just before the end of the year for $29.99 (regular price $34.99). At the time there were lots of threads on this forum about the game crashing and computers overheating trying to run the game, etc. So I was nervous about whether an early access game like this would even work on my rig which wasn't high end by any means.

I did have to make some sacrifices in the settings so the game didn't look very pretty at all for quite awhile until I eventually upgraded my computer. But gameplay-wise it was one of the best decisions I've ever made in video game purchases. 10-years later I still play, I have explored many mods, and enjoyed the entire evolution of this game over the years, and best of all....I never spent a dime on Rust. lol!
